Yup..that's the feeling..we don't normally fall lucky..so I couldn't quite believe it.

Karma and mouse traps

So, we apparently had just the right conditions along this stretch of the high plains this spring that the rodent population pretty much exploded. I've been dealing with mice around the house like crazy that I didn't have before. They've gotten so good at avoiding the snap traps that I finally caved in and bought a couple of glue strip traps yesterday. Well, as soon as the first little dude got stuck I just couldn't take the watching it struggle to get free as the terror sets in. Soooooo...I ended up wussing out and took the cooking oil to it to free the little bugger. Put it in a tall trash can with some paper for bedding a little food and some water to get it through the night before taking it to a park in the AM. Anyhow, this is where karma kicks in. When I awoke this morning I found that another mouse had become stuck in the kitchen sink. I was able to easily capture and transfer it to the trash can with the other and freed them both in the park. I've never had one trap itself in the sink before, so I like to think it was the universe at work thanking me from sparing the first one from the horrible, horrible glue trap (despite me being the evil being who placed the trap in the first place).

P.S. In a further twist of fate, the one trapped in the sink appeared to have went there for a small dab of peanut butter on a knife that was leftover from using the knife to bait the snap traps the mouse emptied before moving on to the sink. :woohoo1:
 
Hey 10 minutes left to go for me Feenix...but I'm sure I can finish the one in my hand fast enough to light another at 4.20 wit'cha...:smoker:

When I went to the ranch this morning I Thought someone had sprinkled glitter all over me poinsettia...turns out it was a heavy dew..beautiful huh..?

I do okay on the campo kitchen..:yeah:..paella ring in an old bbq for wind cover.



First on the menu..chilli con carne..two nice green Scotch Bonnets from the garden. Scotch Bonnets are my Favourite chilli of the season. Red Hot..:devil:..then Not..no taste bud burn out..just the Kiss of the Devil.

Herbs and spice pack..I'm going to be using..

The nutmeg..rosemary..bay leaves cloves and cinnamon are for beef stifado..Greek tomato and onion based beef stew..the spices when it is cooking instantly bring Greek holidays to mind.... :chef:..sigh..

Browned and broken down...waiting for a bit of low oven time...get the spices marinated..or a pressure cooker if you are in a hurry..
