Lighting looking to upgrade to led set up

hey everyone, I'm looking to upgrade to led soon and just looking for some input. I've been growing for a while but have been using 340watts cfl and I get decent results a few 2ft plants some smaller bigger plants have gotten oz. but be nice to get the nice full colas and denser buds. I just do a single plant(will be looking to do 2 once get led will have space for xtra pot? soil 5gal pot in a closet. what would be a good size led for a single plant in a closet grow? I was looking at the gogrow 320watt led system? any input appreciated.

will be ordering this in next few day, looks like a good light to use both veg and flower and after some research have seen a lot of great plants produce. 2 plants looks like good coverage for and have seen good results that I would be more then happy with. look forward to moving up to led!

awesome thanks man I've been reading on led past week or 2. main question I guess really appropriate height for led? I see a lot of for veg do 18inch away and flower do 12inch away?

only pic could really find of the light but yea all the reading and grows with just this sure look good lol much better than any cfl grow I did. I'll be excited to starting growing some plants to their potential now. I have seen some grows with 200watt led with 2 plants end way better then my 350watt cfl. guess it's just having the full spectrum and all the variations? also now I'll be able to run 2 plants in 5 gal pots a time instead of 1 since I can get rid of the fixtures and such from cfls. haha I'm just psyched..oh ha I order this earlier then!

Whats your budget brother.... when looking at LED there are a lot of factors. That viparspectra will grow cannabis... it will probably impress you especially conpared to the cfl.

But in my honest opionion you can have an awesome light for a great price if you DIY yourself a COB setup. Tons of info out there and the white light is hands down the best thing i have personally grown under.

If your not handy with tools... wich it doesnt take much honestly. The the amare lights are top of the line with the best customer service in the biz

thanks for the input, yes I'm sure compared to cfl I will be quite impressed. but budget wise at the time it's tight why I picked up the viparspectra for 140.
what is the difference with cob? have seen it but didn't read anything on it. but yea like I said just excited to move on from cfl.

The political correct answer is the spectrum.

Yes red and blue are the MAIN colors used by a plant like we grow to veg then flower.

BUT. There scientific proof that all the light spectrum in between (created by cobs which produce full spectrum white light) the greens and yellows and all that are key to unlocking the true potential of more than just growth but also terps creating greater growth better taste and smell. Youll often see led labeled as 3 band or 6 band or 13 band. Thats the amount of light bands they are producing. Why would some one advertised to have a wider spectrum than others? No need for that really with COB they produce full spectrum. Now ypu can obviously say they have a 2500k rating or a 600k but a good cob in the 3000 to 3500k range will veg and flat flower a plant.

The info out there is available it just takes research to get to the bottom of it. Youtube is an easy way to start your knowledge base for cobs and white light with cannabis

Now then mate, I'm just about finished on my first grow...total noob. Decided on this light too after good reveiws and such. Now its the only light I've used aside from my 125w cfl that I use for the early day of growth, so I have no other light to compare really. But its doing well. My grow area is 3x2 with two plants.
I had some problems to start but that was down to me not really knowing much at the time, not the light. plus half the grow had pretty shit ventilation So they're probably a pretty stunted. But the growth and flowers are pretty evenly spread even in the corners of the room & penetration doesn't seem too bad. although I do have a few whispy undeveloped buds down low. But on the whole I'm pretty happy.

hey thanks for that info! that makes sense to me. yea I seen this led I purchased only has a handful of 3000 and 5000k white light maybe 10 total out of the 90 leds...now does that put cobs at say over even hps and mh lighting? also too is led lighting now better or more used then hps and mh? I did a little looking last night with cob set ups. I seen something about guys get cheap cob lights and then I guess take light out came with and buy a stronger cob light and swap it? I think. anyhow I'll get a couple led grows under my belt and I got to get some financing straight (just had surgery so there's a new bill) when I upgrade in future I'll move to cob. ha can't wait till get my own house and could have a dedicated room and have mixture of lighting on a room then a closet haha

Seems we're pretty much in the same boat bud haha. I've only really come across cobs over the last few weeks while scrolling through the vast archives of AFN lol and they too are intriguing me. Im not sure how led compares to hps and such as this is my first grow. But many many folk out there that know their shit seem to be led all the way. Infact I rarely see a hps grow journal it all seems to be led or cobs. Maybe technology is advancing so quickly. Im not sure, either way I have managed to grow some tasty looking buds. And for my first time im very pleased with the results
