Mars Hydro unfair competition!!!

Hello all. Hate to seem like a disgruntled forum member but I really want to bring some light to Mars Hydro running unfair contests. It’s not about me winning or losing it’s really about how things were handled. I’m a die hard mars hydro grower. I own 2 sp250’s, TS3000 & 192 Reflector. I bought all that learning from AFN & Tina ‘s posts for almost a year now. Please check out the Sp3000 giveaway thread & look at the pics & tell me if it was fair. I know this isn’t the best way for y’all to get familiar with me but this just wasn’t right. I appreciate all off you & wouldnt be where I’m at if it wasn’t for AFN. Sincere THANKS!

I don't need to look. I have entered many contests here and all over the net that I thought I should have won and did not. If I did not think my entry was a winner why would I enter it.

What on god's green earth makes you think anything in life is fair? Grow a new plant for the next contest and remember it is as much a popularity contest for you as anything else and if peeps don't like you it will be even harder to win anything ever!

I think one issue with the contest was the content was scattered over 20 pages. Really makes it hard to narrow it down and focus in on a winner. I did like the quality of the pics you posted and how you posed them. One thing that I found that took away from them is the art/decals in the background. I would have liked it better if they were more focused on the plant/light content. Good luck next contest, you would have still had my vote, but it would have been a close call honestly.

Hey, I could be the only one to enter a contest and I wouldn't win.... But that's just my luck. I think things are as fair as can be on the forum. This is a great bunch of folks and some really good lights and equipment vendors who treat this community pretty well.

I didn't enter the Mars giveaway because I just bought a TS1000 and others should have a chance to try for one. The other reason is my grow space just isn't big enough to handle anything bigger.

I just thank all those who offer chances for us to get free stuff....

Narr just kidding ,Tina from Mars Hydro have been mayor sponsor here on AFN with many different types of contests , This is just another one and I hear what you are saying , But if you go back some years you will see what I mean about how helpful Tina is . Now I do not own any Mars Hydro products . It is the likes of Tina that help keep AFN the way it is .

I haven't entered any contests, but I have voted, and I second your comment that having the contestants scattered over a large number of pages makes things difficult. A re-design of the layout which permitted quick comparisons, especially side by side views would be nice. I'm not enough of a geek to know whether such a thing is doable for AFN, but if it was, I think it would be worthwhile.

@MasterTarzan, I'm sorry that the results of the contest were disappointing to you. I hope you can put it behind and dive into more contests and enjoy them. Happy growing in any case.

Well MT, I am surprised you would make this thread to complain about the subjectivity of judges and the format of the contest. It was not super specific from the beginning and whenever peoples opinions are the deciding factor things can appear to be unfair or hard to understand.
I thought you had a shot at winning but believe your wanting to win so strongly made the outcome seem even more unfair.
I have won and lost many times in life and understand things are often not fair. Been where you are but finally realized the decision was done and I had to move on.
Hope you take something positive away from this.
Look forward to seeing your grows if you decide to post.
