Tried to top my sour stomper x fantasmo.. it uh... didn’t work. Have side shoots throwing buds but my top didn’t top lol oh well. Smells strong as shit.

Holy poop a reply to my thread. Thought you guys didn’t like me or something. Thanks a bunch. This is my first “grow” but not first harvest. I started these before I harvested my “first grow” so I think it’s still a first grow. I typically use Grasscity Forums but you guys have your own Mephisto forum, and I like that. Always read Mephisto was the rolls Royce Nike etc of seeds so I got an Illuminauto pack. I’m in a non legal state and just got tired of paying 20 a gram for sub par dank when I could grow my own for a years supply on the cost of a zip.

Love this forum and all the info on it. I read everyone’s grow. Wish more would chime in on mine. I don’t know what I’m doing. Fox farms ocean forest and organic blend, mixed with a lot of perlite and vermiculite. Used to grow shroomz so I really like the “casing layer” on my plants seems to “lock in the moisture” better.

Overall I can’t give Mephisto genes enough credit. It’s like my many other genetic brand plants are “cheap” where as the Mephisto is top quality and I’m not just saying that.

I have atleast ten other breeders running with my Mephisto, and the left side of my tent (Mephisto) are just elite in comparison. Really impressed. Previously I got bummed and thought hell a “weed is a weed” but not Mephisto. They’re very good. Love it.

I was gonna order deez nuggs but ive decided im gonna run photos next. Im looking at cannaventure arcadia skunk. I currenrly am running dbl grapes and white cracks day 44. I have a 400 watt hps in my 3x3 but im considering adding a small led.

I run HPS and LED. the led doesn’t seem to add much heat so I can’t complain really

I don’t chime in very often. I read way more than I comment. I usually have no idea what I’m doing either. I just try to find techniques I like and I try to copy them. So, as far as information goes, I’m a pretty useless fella to have commenting on your post

That being said, the only comment that I’d make is with regards to topping autos and transplanting. Can these things be done? Yes. Definitely. However, both of them stress the plant to some extent and that stress can lead to early flowering. At least they have in my experience.

I don’t know that I would have topped Deez Nugs if it were mine. The Strawberry Nuggets in Deez Nugs grows a short bushy plant to begin with. Definitely wouldn’t think about topping any plant of mine twice. But that’s just me. You can do whatever you like.

Sometimes a grow slips under the radar for a multitude of reasons.if urban remo or greg green came onsite id still recommend they do first grow in new growers section.
Its nobodies job to check in on your grow,i would like to think i check in on as many growers as i can,but im no superman.check out other new growers,pop into live stoners gossip,check out the links in peoples signatures....@ me or other folks,quote peeps to remind us.

I honestly do not know the rhyme or reason for topping. I just read it “will produce more central colas” don’t know what the negatives are, I just thought two four six heads always better than one, no?

It’s up to you how you do it. I was just observing that I might not top the SN because it’s already a short bushy indica and topping her is only gonna make her shorter and bushier. And she’s known for have some gigantic fan leaves which might necessitate the need for heavy defoliation down the road. But if you want to do it, that’s totally your decision to make.

Could someone chime in as to the method to the madness behind defoliation? The idea is sound, however, each leaf is pretty much attached to a bud site. Is that not directly where the bud gets its food from?

Also for topping, what’s the gain vs the loss? Would it be primarily for a taller Sativa? What’s the downside to doing it to a bushy indica aka deez nugs or strawberry nugs? Not to say there isn’t, I’m just trying to gather as much info as I can. Do some strains do better untopped? Anyone have any side by sides of the same strain tppped vs not?

Also to further chime in. Someone noted potentially large fan leaves. I have long fingers, long hand.... some of these Deez Nugs fans are larger than my hand and I’m not kidding. I see them blocking ALOT of light, however, they’re HUGE and there apparently for a reason, no? Where do I pull from and where not....?
