Lighting My T-5 HO Dealings

looks killer man...love me some t5 action, plants really like the spectrum, you get great quality

you should consider using your other lights you are not using with the 4 footer.......perhaps mount the 4 footer to the back wall as side lighting, then use you other smaller lights hanging from the top....side lighting with flouros is key

oh I know bro, thank you for the heads up though man. Im looking at two 6 bulb banks to go on the walls then my two 2ft on the opposite walls and my LED overhead. sweeet! but just cant quite swing the buy with retooling for new stuff, styles and med re purposing too. Thanks again man, appreciate it!

hey for side lighting, check out T8's...cheap as hell...megalo mart they are like $10 per 2 ft light fixture and another $5 for 2 lights...cool enough plants can touch the bulbs and the actually have basically the same lumen per watt rating as T5....and they come in better halo phosphor spectrums as opposed to tri-phosphor which most t5's are....

t8's IMO hands down the best bang for the buck when on a mega budget

I tend to go with GE lights, they have all the spectrum readily available so you know what spectrum ya got.....I llike the daylight and reveal combo....or go full warm white delux

Hey bud, I'll have a look at this thread when I get a chance. I'm thinking of t5s for a seed starter set-up for next season.

yeah T8's are nice but they are only really great for small clones and/or seedlings.the inverse square law is not what I need it to be for penetration on the lowers of my plant but thwey certainly are cheap and would work some. Thanks!

yeah T5's are excellent man.ive been growing with them for years now.until flower then LED.BUT i have grown many many start to finish under T5 65K bulbs and achieve stellar results time and time again.

I'd like to see if they improve my seedling growth performance. I don't have enough electricity(way off-grid) to grow out plants but could probably stretch it to give em a good start as opposed to the vagaries of the weather.

yeah , see with T8's you got to work in 3-D....you need a wrap around setup..

for seedlings a few small blue wave CFL's might be the way yoiu need to go for power consumption.but worth a shot with a cpl 2ft bulbs for the T5's. man its always worked excellent for me man. I love them and will always for the first cpl weeks minimum with T-5 's lol
