Nice setup. Mine is a little bit bigger 24 x 18 x 12. 9 gal will get the level to about 8", as the water drops the float valve will keep it to about 7-7.5". You will probably want to keep your water level an inch or 2 below the net cups. The submersible pump is plenty big enough. You only need to run the drip feed until the roots reach the res. I only ran mine for 15min 4 times a day. After the roots hit the res, I took the pump out. I put it back in to pump out the res when I do a change. I have these little adjustable feeders on my drip feed.
You just twist the end to control the flow. I had 9 holes in my lid. I only installed net cups in the holes that I used. I just taped over taped over the unused holes with aluminum tape.
A couple of years ago I talked to a guy with the same setup as mine. he said he tried to do 4 plants on his first grow. He said it turned into an unmanageable overgrown mess. Sour Crack was the smallest plants that I've ever done in soil, so I decided to do a couple for my first hydro attempt. I'm glad I limited it to 2. Here they are at 38 days.
My largest SC in soil was only 14" in a 3 gal pot. These still have a bit more stretching to do and they are at 16" and 20" and very bushy. They have more room to go up but very little room to bush out more and the res is full of roots.
@Duckster. I am chomping at the bit to get this Hydro grow going. It's been only 15 days sent I sent in my Nirvana order. I have always gotten my beans from them in the past w/o an issue. They should be here in two weeks or so.
Please post pics of you set up or a link I can see your whole set up.
I saw that you checked out my DWC thread. I hope that answered most of you questions. The drip emitters on my system are shown on post [HASHTAG]#4[/HASHTAG] first pic. They are something like these http://www.homedepot.com/p/Blue-Str..._8903vry57826_pcrid_73529847902561_pkw__pmt__ You can get these at home depot. They probably have something like it at your grow shop too. Just take out the 90 degree fitting and put one of these in its place. They adjustable and can be turned off on the ones where there is no plant.
I just got an email from Nirvana Seeds that the have received my order and it's being prepared and ready to ship. It took roughly two weeks to get to The Netherlands. If all is within reason...I should be getting my beans in roughly two weeks
.
That should be perfectly timed with the end of the Max Out Grow.
