Mephisto Genetics Orange Diesel and Blue Microverse

You can tie them down from around day 2.

Sour Crack 3 is being trained this way. I am trying to encourage side branching without topping with this girl.

The earlier you tie each stem the easier to manipulate the plant.

Thanks very much. You nailed it for me there.

How big of a yield increase could some minor LST give over a natural untouched grow?

It is LST that slows them down. I grew Sour Crack 2 natural and she was done in 60 days. That was with a ten day flush.

I have done 100+ Sour Cracks. That strain will not yield more by training so early and will extend the grow time. Leaf tucking and minimal training is what she prefers. Certain strains do worse with too much training and Sour Crack is one of them. There is no reason a Sour Crack should go 90 days. Trust me on this one, do some leaf tucking and pony tailing on one instead of training. I am just being honest, I would not suggest that you train a Sour Crack at day 2 or to even attempt LST with this strain. You will finish at 8 weeks and have nice dense buds that smell great. Taking that strain more than 10 weeks will decrease the quality by a lot. It loses smell and potency if you try to extend her life. On of thw few strains that I suggest doing minimal of anything to her. She is meant to grow Fast. Which is why I have done 100+ of them. Good luck! Peace, slow

Dont LST a Sour Crack at all. She does much better naturally. LST will not increase Sour Cracks yield and is counterproductive on this strain. She is highly Indica and does not need or like stress. One of the few strains I suggest not training at all. Leaf tucking and pony tailing helps a lot. But LST will only extend your grow time and will not translate higher yielded at all. As a general rule of thumb, pure Indica strains don't need LST and dont like stress. They grow fast and short, and don't like to be slowed down. Peace, slow

So I am dealing with the spider mites. Daily Neem spray.

The ladybirds seems to have rid whatever was starting. I see no white dots on the leaves and nothing underneath.

I think culling and not flushing BTA and SC1 was the right move, as I can now deal with the infestation a lot easier.

Be interesting to see the difference in taste from not flushing.

I will be keeping a very careful eye over the next 3 weeks.

When the Phytoseiulus come in, I will add just in case. Should pick up any straggler. I will then hit the tent with more ladybirds.

I trimmed up BTA and Sour Crack 1 and cannot find anything under the scope.

So, I don't think I will fill the slots as per Mrs Jumper's instruction. Bl**dy wimmen! I will be patient, otherwise I will no longer be allowed to play :-(

Sour Crack 3, day 24. Getting tied down, a little defoliation the large fan leaves. She is very sensitive to EC.

Sour Crack 4, day 9. About to starting growing now her roots are established. Same feed as SC3.

Yes, I see that now. Fugue State and HBBS responded much better.

GWK and CDLC tolerated it, but I suspect would be better natural.

Very strain dependent. But I got 15 recently from Blue Microverse. 9 from Fugue State and 14 from HBBS.

I would say 1.5 from SC1 as opposed to almost 3 from the natural Sour Crack. GWK and CDLC I got 3 each. 4 each for Sour Livers x 2.

The Blueberry Treacle looks to be 6 +. Last time I grew her I got < 2 natural.

I have a personal opinion on Indica based Autos. They do better natural. Larger strains and Sativa based strains tend to do very well with training. It's all good to try a little minor training on Small strains, but in general anything fast as small does better untrained. Good luck!

I just went through your whole thread again. You did a great job on that Blue Microverse! The Natural Sour Crack did much better than the trained too.. I see you have Spider Mites? That sucks. Do you do outdoors and indoors? I hope you get them under control. BTW, from my personal experience I believe most Autoflowering strains seem to lose smells, flavors, and potency much faster than Photo strains. Harvesting when mostly Cloudy on Autos is ideal for most Autos vs waiting for a bunch of Amber. I press a TON of Rosin. The Rosin production tends to go down on strains I take longer and the smell is not as strong. Take care, slowandeasy

Hi Slowandeady

Thanks. Yes Blue Microverse was an absolute beast and I have to say a fantastic smoke. She is tucked away curing, but I could not help myself.

The Orange Diesel post cure has a fanatic deep diesel smell. However, you can still make out her orange undertones.

The mites came from outside, but it was a very light infection. The ladybirds over the weekend took care of them. I am now using neem oil spray every other day for the next couple of weeks. I would rather take action and get this sorted.

I had some of my girls outside this summer. Lesson learnt!!

That is very interesting regarding harvest time. I will try with SC4, who will be natural. SC3 I will let go and see what happens with the early training. I seem to have at least 8 tops.

Can you recommend any indica strains that you do know train well from the Mephisto line up.

I have 1.1m high grow space!
