Grow Room PC LED 50w dutch passion's autos

Hi guys,

This is my first grow ever, so I will appreciate any help.
I have researched a lot last 2 weeks and this forum has helped me a lot, so I want to start this thread to help somebody esle too

I've got a PC case of this size : 60cm x 40cm x 20cm.
Good quality multispectre UFO grow LED lamp 50w. Each diod uses 2W

I also have 3 autoflowering strains from legendary Dutch Passion: AutoMazar, AutoBlueberry and AutoPolarLight #3. I also got 1 seed of auto hindu kush and 1 seed of auto critical from dutchbulk.

The smell issue im gonna solve with small carbon filter and ONA BLOCK.

I am going to use one 8 litre balcony pot with sizes: 15cm x 35 cm x 15 cm that I will split in two parts. Each plant will get 4 litres of space.

Soil: 2 parts of Compo Sana Universal and 1 part of perlite.
Nutrients: 3 weeks of vegetation - no nutrients. After - Plagron Green Sensation and some nutes for micro elements.

I will start grow on Sunday 21/07.
The main question is - what strain should I start?

I'd be worried that you might not have the space to grow out those strains as by the time you've got your pot and light in there, there aren't many cms left to grow the plant!

I'm going to see if i can find an LED expert to come and offer some advice

Edit: I've pm'd someone to come and take a look over here for you. If you'd like any general advice, i'm happy to help if i can, although micro growing isn't really my area of knowledge. Just the basics from me ^_^

Yeah, that's true I am very limited in height. But I have got nice light and each plant will have 1 gallon of soil, so I think that I can achieve some good results.
I will keep my lamp very low - 10 cm from surface to prevent stretching and will use scrog. I also want to give plants flowering nutrients from week 3 to initiate bud growth faster.
Are there any other viable options to make my girls small?
I have also decided to grow PolarLight and BlueBerry first. Seeds seem to be fresh and quite big. So I will germinate directly in soil with just little (5-6 hours) water soaking.

Welcome to AFN mate High 5 I think you may struggle to contain those DP strains bro,they are pretty big plants from what iv seen and you only have 35cm of growing space once you take out the height of the led & your balcony pot. Im not familiar with those other strains but you could try the auto Hindu or critical,they maybe smaller plants than the DP ones? Are you familiar with LST mate? Your probably gonna need to tie your plant down so reading up on LST will be a big benefit and I'm sure there's a good thread on it lurking somewhere stylez rasta smoke

Just a quick thought/question for Red - will 10cm be high enough for an LED light - i thought there may be issues with it being so close, but have no experience with LED and its just a niggle in the back of my mind!

As for keeping your plants small, other than LST or some training, you already have a shallow pot which should help. I can think of a really bad idea for stunting, but as i say it's a bad idea and may kill your plants - not stunt them, so i'll keep that one to myself

It just depends on the light & optics mate,and at 10 cm you could encounter problems with the bigger panels with optics.with this only being 50w it shouldn't be to intense,but only time will tell. :smokebuds:

I think (and i may be wrong) the distance you need between your LED and your plants is dependant on the wattage of the individual LEDs (1-5w) and the lens which they use (the angle of dispersion).

You'll need to LST the plants I would of thought and remember the pot size directly relates to the size of your plant. I'd say 4 litres per plant in a PC box may be too much (others may know better). I've seen a few micro grows where the pot size has been less than a litre, plant harvested around 8g and was prob 20cm tall with LST. I'd say (and it's a bit of a guess) 1-2L per plant would help in keeping plants small.

Be sure to keep us updated i'm interested in how you get on. I'm gonna be building myself a PC case or micro groom soon (no big grows for me at the moment) so I need to absorb all the info I can.

I have just bought pots. They are square 16cmx16cm and 12cm tall. Volume = 3 litres.
So I have ~30 cm of active space left.

PS. I will start my grow on the weekend and will try to update with photos actively.

Finally my growbox is done. Its a server tower box, and there is plenty space.

I have soaked overnight (for 10 hours) 1x automazar seed and 1x auto polarlight #3. Now they are planted directly in 2.7 liters pots with 50% soil, 25% vermiculite and 25% perlite.
