Attempting a decent seedling mix that won't burn my baby girls once they've germed. So here's the recipe:

  • 3 parts EWC
  • 4 parts spagnum moss
  • 1 part perlite
  • 4 parts Midwestern top soil (dug from my garden)

Using coco pressed pots under 2' T5 bulbs once they pop inside the warm moist paper towel method. I plan to keep them indoors until early May before moving out to my gorilla holes. I'll save my fucked up super soil recipe for another post.

Anything glaringly wrong with this mix? I'm a semi-nube who's grown before but never had dispensible income to spend on proper ingrediants.

that rocks bro ya wanna make a good seedling mix from existing stuffs.well as ya may or may not know its really advised against using your local dirt especially for a seedling mix due to many viruses ,and many forms of bacteria that a quick hit happy mix wont fix.just be aware of that is all.you can buy a brick of coco and start from there its cheap and works really really really really well lol happy growing dude!

Thanks for the input fire. I should have stated that I baked my topsoil on my charcoal grill for an hour at around 300F. Will that take care of the nasties? Should kill bacteria, but not sure about viruses.

But, I do have a few cubic feet of coco for my TLO mix I was planning to use. Maybe I'll use that in place of the grilled Midwestern top soil lol

BTW, this site is like a giant knowledge crack rock for a nube fiend!
