Hey guys. I'm as newb as they come to growing. But figured I have loved these plants way too long NOT to be having my own. I'm planning on using the wifes Aerogarden Ultra to get some shorties goin. Looking at ordering some seeds here shortly just trying to narrow it down as to what kind I want to get and try. Wondering if any of you guys have tried and succeeded a decent crop from such a machine. The seeds I am trying to narrow down from are all autos and are as listed:

World of Seeds- Afghan Kush Ryder
DinaFem- Moby Dick
Auto- Berry Ryder
Green Label- Widow
Paradise- White Berry
DNA Genetics- 60 Day Lemon
DNA Genetics- 60 Day Wonder
7 Dwarfs- Cyclops
7 Dwarfs- Colossus
7 Dwars- Gigantes
7 Dwarfs- Hercules

These are just some that appeal to me in the sense that they arent going to be too tall, and seed to harvest dates are rather quick in the 8-10 wk area. I am open to all suggestions and recommendations. I'm planning on ordering from SSC and using the Aerogarden Ultra for my grows. Looking into getting maybe somewhere around 8-10 seeds so I can have a couple different harvests without having to place another order. Again ANY info would be great. Thanks in advance!

I will use my first posting powers on you! If height is the only thing you are worried about I have read that most autoflowers are usually smaller than regular non AF plants. Also seed breaders will tell you 8-10 weeks but most will probably take a little longer.

Only reason I am trying to stay "short" is because of the size of the aero garden ultra. The light only goes so high on it so that is why I am looking at autoflowers for their shorter stature. Just trying to get the biggest bang for my buck I guess you could say

Welcome! I'd say avoid your Sativa Dom strains esp. Moby Dick. They will want to grow the largest. LST your strains to keep them short and you can always switch to flower nutes before the stretching stops to stop growth and harvest earlier. I don't know the specs of the ultra but it looks small so maybe only 1 lady at a time? Indica dom strains will be your best choice though. Hope that helps!

You are going to need to stay with dwarf strains and you are going to need a bigger light. You have to be careful with the stains you pick as bigger strains can take off on you in any type of hydro setup. We had a member where with a 4 footer sticking out of one he had to add water to twice a day. You might consider Low Ryder 2 as a great option as well.

Thanks guys. I'm planning on doing either 1 lady at a time or at the most 2 of the 7 Dwarfs strains at a time but no more than that. I've got to keep the budget down but I plan on using mylar all around and possibly adding a light but not sure what size or what kind for small grow like this. Dont need anything huge. Figured will be a closet grow so I can wrap mylar all the way around and reflect more light. What kind of nutes should I be looking into for something like the Aerogarden. I want to make sure I have everything in place and everything ready for growing so I dont forget anything when the time comes to plant. Will definitely be keeping a log on here when it gets up and running. Again I appreciate all the info. I would rather go about this right and not waste such awesome seeds. Thanks again guys!

After scanning forums for the last couple of weeks, I realize my first "mistake" in all of this is being really hopeful that I would get a decent yield or anything growing out of an aerogarden. I'm thinking a 1 gallon reservoir is only going to produce small tiny plants. Which I'm not looking to grow some monster plants but I would like to make it worth while and worth my money invested. So I think I am going to just go with like a 5 Gallon DWC Bucket system. Should be more than big enough to allow a good healthy medium size plant to grow a good root system which results in better yields, or so I have gathered. Looking to use CFL's to grow with not only to stay with in my budget but also keep electrical bill down. I guess my questions now would be, should I set this up in a closet wrapped in Mylar? Or leave it in a room? I have the options for either. OR should I build a space? Also, how many lights/watts should I have for this 1-2 plant project. Second part would be what's everyones thoughts on Technaflora nutes vs Dyna-Gro. Any and all info is greatly appreciated as this will be my first grow and I just want it to come out right and worthwhile! Thanks again guys!

Check out youtube. You would be surprised at how big your yields can be in an aerogarden. I am using one at the moment the Elite version. I plan on trussing the plants to get maximum yield. I have an auto critical and auto bubble in one and I'm on about day 4. Things are great. Going to be using Advanced Nutrient hobbyist trio nutes. Good luck to you bro. Keep us updated.

Maybe you could check out the GHS Green-o-Matic. Ive grown this babe once and she was very tiny and produced pretty good buds for that little light she had (2x23w)

For nutes I would go with GH floraduo A and B and some CalMag. One tsp per gallon on the calmag and don't go any higher than 2/3 on the GH. It is the easiest nute schedule that works well for me.
Good call on the 5 gal dwc, I would use 2 airstones.
As far as the lights..... If it were me I would go with a blackstar led. I see lots of people doing good things with cfl but it was just too hot for a small space. The blackstar has been kick ass for me. Low heat, dead quiet (2013 model 240uv) and you can use it for the entire grow. They are a bit salty but for one plant you could rock a ufo in style.

Just my .02
good luck brother.
Oh, and I wouldn't do the berry ryder mine got HUGE!
