Welcome peeps to my next triple automatic grow. My last grow was such as success I'm super stoked to get the next one underway! I am following the same basic formula, just fine tuned a few things which I will try to highlight as we go. I will be growing two different strains that were both gifts!!! @Nosias was kind enough to share a pack of Dutch Passion Auto Ultimate seeds and @;-) gave me a pack of Shortstuff Auto Gorilla OG to try out! SHOUTOUTS AND BIG THANKS TO YOU BOTH!!!!

Both strains are supposed to be big yielders with potent smoke so we're going to put them to the test and see what's what! Here's the game plan:

2 X Short Stuff Auto Gorilla OG

Grow Area

4'x4'x6' Grow Tent
6" Exhaust Fan and Carbon Filter

One of the things I learned in my last grow was to READ the strain description from the breeder! There is a lot of info in there, knowledge is power!

Auto Gorilla OG
http://shortstuffseeds.com/shortstuff-seedbank/auto-gorilla-og/
"a vigorous high-yielding variety which grows up to 80-100cm with compact buds ranging from medium to large in size. The buds are sticky and coated with a sweet aromatic coating of resin."

Auto Ultimate
https://www.dutch-passion.com/en/ca...ultimate-feminized-autoflower-cannabis-seeds/https://www.dutch-passion.com/en/ca...ultimate-feminized-autoflower-cannabis-seeds/
"vigourous and pushes out branches and bud sites in all directions while reaching a height of up to 1-2 metres (4 feet). Once she has finished her stretch she will start filling out and the buds will become super chunky and resinous as the trichome production goes into overdrive. The smell has classic OG funk elements with pine scents and earthy aromas"

Ah, you have started the new grow. You did a nice job re-arranged garden. Looks very professional.
What does the B52 and Real Growers Recharge?

Too bad we did not win some beans. But there is the drawing contest. Just loved your entry ;)

Germination

We're underway as of today! I'm trying a different germination technique. This is roughly based on @Corgy's method which he described in a previous thread, with a few of my own ideas. I'm trying to avoid the fussy handling of sprouted seeds taproots and getting these girls a big head start right at the beginning.

Here are the tools I used:

Here's the procedure I'm trying this time:
  • Measure small amount of distilled water and add a few drops of Voodoo Juice to the water.
  • I was prepared to pH the water but it settled onto 6.3 which should be find for the root riots cubes
  • Soak the root riot cubes with the prepared water and gently squeeze out excess
  • Plant seed pointy end down, about 1/2" into the hole on the top of the cube
  • Once you've planted all the seeds, roll the cubes in a little Recharge.
  • Place the cubes in the germination box, I'm using a small plastic bin
Here are the cubes in the germination box. The Ultimates are on the side with the paper:

Now that the cubes are in the box, I placed it on a seedling heat mat. you can see the thermal probe for the heat mat in the picture above, it's the thing with the wire. I have the thermostat set for 80F. I've got one autocob hung at 30" over the germ box

Here's the scene in the tent:

It's been a few hours, here's the air temp and humidity in the germ box now:

This is the thermostat connected to the thermal probe that is touching the plastic floor of the germ box:

This is a new technique and a bunch of new kit for me, hope it all works!!

Good to see you Nosias! I knew you'd be here first! Thanks so much for the Ultimate beans, finally got the launch pad cleared for liftoff! I just hope the ladies like the new setup!

To answer your question, the B52 I got in the "advanced nutrient hobby pack". It is vitamin b that is supposed to help stimulate growth. Not sure how much it really helps, I'm pretty much just using it up from my last grow. The pro-silicate is one of the supplementals that Hans uses. It is supposed to make the stems stronger to hold up all those giant buds these girls are gonna put out :yay:

Ha I know I was off by like a mile!!! But yeah they are giving out tons of seeds so its a good time to be hanging around on the forums, and its always fun to make fun of @epenguin and his habit of eating the stinkiest herrings he can find :gassy1:

Ha sounds like you got it rough, I'm jealous, I still gotta schlep myself into the office every day.

Hey I messed up before, you asked about the Recharge not the silicate. The recharge is, according to the manufacturer, "loaded with mycorrhizae and trichoderma fungi as well as the strongest microbe package available anywhere". I'm experimenting with adding the beneficial fungi to the grow to help with root development.
