Let me start by saying thank you to @SuperSativaSeedClub-David for including me on this grow and show comp and your generocity. Thank you to @TheMongol for putting this together.

This grow will be a bit of a comparrison grow with one plant under a @Marshydro Marshydro FC-E 4800 and the second under a @Les @HLG HLG 300L R Spec. Both plants will be in Canna Coco and eventually get hooked up to an auto water system. Im looking forward to seeing what kind of differences come up, if any.

Ill be starting the germ process tomorrow. Till then....

After a 48 hr soak and another 48hrs in the hot box the girls have been placed in there cups. The tap roots were really nice and about an inch long so i dont expect them to be below ground for long. I have to download the auto water app before i can set that up. I bought a new phone so i could use all these new fancey apps and stuff and my old phone kept running out of memory anyways. Just hand watering with 150ppm at pH 5.9.

Day 4,

Both girls are doing well. I watered to runoff accidentially, it didnt take much to get water through the cup. Left them for a few days to dry out and i'll repeat tomorrow to keep things fresh.

pH 6.0, ppm 150, EC 0.3

Thanks DCLXVI

I just bought the valve at the local hardware store. Biteing the bullet and putting a hole in the pan was tough reminds me of "There Aint No Hole in the Washtub" song in Emmit Otters movie.... But anywho, just trying to set it as far down as possible so it can drain but without being in the corner where is cant be sealed was a pain. I notched the inner tube of the shut off to try and get it as far down as possible. I wont be able to get any reliable ph/EC numbers becuse there always some residual sitting in the pan but at least i can drain it with little effort.

Nice start! If those solos are coco you definitely want to water to runoff. Get that 20% runoff amount and if you keep track carefully you can see the runoff amount drop and start increasing water. I watch mine like a hawk, since, well, I've really got nothing better to do most days than fart around with plants and check posts on here! hahaha

EDIT: Oh nevermind! I've just seen your seedstockers solo update. You've got it.

Day 9,
Running both girls at a PAR of 350 = DLI 23 with water every other day. Both are unfolding there second set of leaving and working on there 3rd. The Mars girl seems to be getting on a little better than the HLG but I realized the HLG was a little low so I raised the cup up a little bit to match the DLI. The sprouts are on the lanker side of the seedlings I have going and stem are bending a bit but nothing major. I have some fans blowing around to help strengthen them and I spin the cups to try and even them out.

pH 5.7-6.0, ppm 150, EC 0.3

Day 13,
Pushing out the fourth node and staying nice a squat for now. I turned the light up a bit to PPFD 500 = DLI 32.5. I just did it yesterday but so far so good. Watering to run off once every 2 or 3 days. They continue to do well.
