Indoor Sweet tooth AF grow

... looks as though the green thumb is with you:gthumb:

yeah, i do like growing stuff... got my new vege patches going as well - just planted some peas, beans, cucumber, zuchini, tomato, carrots and a bunch of herbs.

the capsicum (bell peppers), broccoli seeds havent sprouted yet and im waiting on some chili seeds from the US (ancho, cascabel, pasilia and jalapeno)

hi all,

its been a week or two - thought i should give an update.

she is coming along nicely, actual buds are starting to form now, lots of white hairs starting to sprout out and the smell is changing from a generic vegetation smell to something a bit sweeter.

i chopped a couple of the upper fan leaves off the top to let the light through to the side buds and they seem to have appreciated that. i always get a little worried chopping her like that, but i'd rather see more bud growth than just huge fan leaves everywhere.

still got no idea how long she has been growing for, but if i had to hazard a guess, i'd say she is about halfway which would put her at about 7 weeks.

here are some photos for you all - enjoy :smokebuds:

hey all,

merry christmas and happy new year to you all.

the sweet tooth is going good, lots of brown hairs coming up now and the sugar is starting to turn cloudy.

ive got a problem though - a goddamn caterpillar infestation.

infestation might be too harsh a word but ive been pulling the fuckers off the plant for the last few nights now - i found a moth in the box about a week or two ago and the little shit must have laid a bunch of eggs.

considering the plant is only a couple of weeks at most away from harvest, im very hesitant to spray her with anything.

any tips or tricks for getting rid of the buggers would be greatly appreciated.

I`ve passed it forward buddy.. someone will hopefully jump in with some info for you soon :d5:

Hey bro, caterpillars can be a pain in the neck. The best thing you can do right now is pick them off. If you are only a few weeks away, that may be the best approach. You can use diatomaceous earth, which isn't a pesticide, to sprinkle over the top of you soil. It will kill the ones that haven't made it to your plant yet.

Check your plant every day, especially the under sides of leaves, that is where they are going to hang out at. They will first appear to be very small pieces of black snot, like the size of a pencil tip. If you can catch them early, they won't do much damage. Just pick them off and squeeze them. I had a pretty bad infestation a while back and it took me about two weeks of picking daily, sometimes 30-40 a day to get rid of them all. It just takes diligence. Check the underside of every leaf every day.

Thanks Roy and A4.

I had a feeling that it was going to be a manual process. I've been getting better at spotting them over the last few days, but didnt know to look for the little black snot. Hopefully i can keep on top of them and they dont do too much damage.
