Grow Mediums The Cave Toad Grow

@dcat0921 I am concerned too. I have one that is a bit on the weak side so if the other 5 start to get out of control it may have to go.
I just took a better look and I think I have just a hint of nutrient burn happening so I think I am going to pull out a little bit of the res and add some fresh water to dilute just a bit. Roots are just starting to pop out of the bottom of the pots so they should start to really gain speed. I'll give that a couple of days and then move forward again. Much more interested in a health grow than a fast one right now. Here are the latest pics from today.

Yeah don't be too quick..I've noticed they take a little longer in DWC anyways. And don't go too heavy with nutes. I don't think I've ever gone full strength with them. Easier to add more than to take it back out.

I put about 2 gal of RO water in the res and it dropped the PPM from 930 to 830 over a couple of hours so they should get happier. It's tough because my tap water is about 300ppm and my RO is still about 100ppm. My first fill was almost all tap since there were no roots actually in the water yet, might have been a mistake on my part but I only get RO at about 3 gal/hr due to low line pressure so until I add a booster I have been trying to use as little as possible. My total water capacity is about 32 gal so a good 10 hrs to collect all RO. Might have to bite the bullet and do it though.

The grow has officially reached day 14, Hard to believe that only 2 weeks ago these where just little seeds in a blister pack and now they are beautiful young ladies! I did notice that I wasn't doing a real good job of identifying each so before I did today's pics I numbered their pots to make it easier to track each of them. As you can see it looks, so far, like my nutrient burn is taming down, the new growth looks much healthier. I am a little disappointed in the growth of #'s 4-6 but they are in the back row and just a bit starved for light I think. I have been trying to keep the light more forward to encourage [HASHTAG]#3[/HASHTAG], I tipped the light more to the back again to see if I can remedy that. The additional light will be here soon so that problem should go away. As you can see [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG] is doing amazing, the tap root has found the reservoir and the growth has exploded. [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] has not had the tap root show yet but must be close because it to looks to be taking off. I did change out my water system just a little to get rid of the water restrictor in the drip lines, they were 2 gal per hour which I thought would be fine but the pots felt a bit starved so I took them out and moved the drip lines just a bit deeper in the pots to keep the flow just of the roots. Seems like it was a good choice.

So here we are at day 19. The second Platinum P900 went in this morning as well as 50mL of SM-90. I haven't gotten a water chiller yet so doing that to protect the roots until I can. I think the curling of the leaves on [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG] is because of my fan, I don't have an oscillating one in yet so I am thinking the constant air flow was drying the underside of the leaves a bit and causing them to curl just a bit, moved the fan so hopefully that will get better.

Here are a couple more of how things are going inside the tent. Also the root mass on [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG], by far the best so the others have some catching up to do, shows you what being in the middle of good light does vs on the edge. hopefully the second light fixes that.

@dcat0921 Even in one day I can see change! Once the extra light was on and the roots hit the res water they explode. Still have a good 10 days until I'm even thinking of switching them to bloom so can't wait to see what happens.

It's crazy how they take off as the roots hit the res...almost as good as when the buds start building.

Did a little checking and I think my lights are just a bit too close, looks like there is some "Tacoing" going on. I will pick up another fan or two to add as well. I think the leaves are getting just a bit too hot.
