Still only one little baby mushroom on the surface. Some are coming in the sides of the monotub. I'm thinking I might have a lack of humidity in my tub since they're pinning on the sides not the top.
Took a peek at the MVP tub this morning. Lots of pins coming in now. I just need more patience lol.
The uncolonized spot still concerns me. And the fuzzy bits around the edge look a little grey in the photos but I double checked, it's very white so I think it's just thick mycelium.
Are the greyish looking tops aborts? Or maybe too early to tell. The side shrooms are coming in nicely.

I was so excited seeing the baby mushroom last week I went ahead and purchased another bag.
A 5 lb colonized bag of Yeti arrived today.
This one looks closer to the size of a 5lb bag of CVG. Mixed about 1 and a half bags of CVG with the Yeti grain spawn.
Saw a video somewhere where the guy tucked the corners in before adding the casing layer to reduce side pinning. Thought I'd give it a try.
Added about a half inch casing layer. We're about 3.5 inches thick now.
Micropore tape on the holes and we're good to go.
Oh and speaking of side pins. Here's some of MVP.
A 5 lb colonized bag of Yeti arrived today.
This one looks closer to the size of a 5lb bag of CVG. Mixed about 1 and a half bags of CVG with the Yeti grain spawn.

Played with some agar today.
APER looking good as always.
Z not looking so good after a week. I read somewhere the bubbles are bacteria.
A tiny bit of growth on one of them.
Enigma looks similar.
So I transferred some of the mycelium to new agar.

Another week passed for our grain bags.
Wild Texas will be ready for a monotub soon. APER shortly after that.

Growth looks to have slowed and most of the veils have torn so we're gonna harvest everything today. I've been slowly picking the ones as the veils break up to today.
Our first pin was 10-14
Started seeing more on 10-17
10-19 Onward Growth exploded
10-20
10-21
10-22
10-23
10-24
And finally today 10-25
I harvested about half the remaining tub this morning; I'll give them 12 hours at 158F in our mini dehydrator. I'll harvest the rest when they're finished and fill the dehydrator back up.
Harvested 39g dry so far.

Everything's good and dry now. First Flush MVP, 94g dry. Largest was still only 3.8g dry. The fattest was a bit hollow, only came to 3.6g dry. Soaked our cake all day in water and ready for a second flush.

One of the APER cups has eaten all the food coloring. I don't know if this is normal or maybe a sign of bacteria.
Enigma looks bacterial to me.
Z strain seems to only be bacteria. Tossed it.
Took a couple clones of the MVP to save for later grows.

Mixed about 80% of each bag together in the bottom of the tub. Then added a layer of grain spawn before the casing layer.
APER hasn't made much progress this week. Maybe another week and we can tub it.
Checked on the grain bags, all good except one lone APER. This bag went right in the trash.
