If it is holding too much water, definitely squeeze out the excess. Do be sure to re-fluff it after squeezing it to the appropriate dryness. A pillow case filled and twisted to apply pressure should make it easier.

I have only used the big 11 lb blocks before. Those take exactly 5 gallons. Since you grow one plant, that might be a little much.

Well im about to go home and squeeze out the excess water. Its like a whole new beginning. Very exciting.

How are your girls doin by u?

Ive had good luck with the paper towel germ method so mine sprouted this morning im going to plAce it 1/4 inch into the soil and wait to see those baby green leaves. Ilm start nutes then from what uve told me.

What do u do with coco when u make to much? How do u store it?

Sounds good my man. Squeeze out all the water you can and spread it in a thin layer(2"-6"). The air will naturally dry it out. This will last you indefinitely.
