Hello fellow growers, well I'm not one yet, but hopefully I can learn to be one... soon....

I will be starting my first grow EVER, very soon. I plan on starting with Mephisto genetics.

My set up:

3' x 3' x 6' Vivosun tent
(1) Marshydro reflector series 144 - & timer - 1st grow so I wanted to keep it kinda small

Mephisto genetics - White Stomper, Heisenhound & Skysenberg

Soil mix - Pro HP Coco w/microrizae, Perlite, earthworm castings & Mephisto Super soil mix

5 gal air pots

Ventilation - 6" hyperfan with 6" black ops carbon filter

PH & PPM Tester

temp & humidity thermometer

I was originally going to go Regular seeds feminized but choose to go autoflower for the first grow. Most of my research was done on photo period plants.....

I do have one questions if anyone is familiar with Mephisto genetics super soil. Do I still have to flush my soil periodically through my grow as you do with photo period plants?

Thanks for stopping in. Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

:welcome: Welcome to the site!!!

I haven't used Mephisto's brand super soil, but I use Kind Soil (same thing...different company)....I do not flush the soil.

If I understand it correctly, the flushing is for when you use chemical nutes, to flush away the left over salts. I'm sure somebody else will chime in, this is just how I understand it....and I am in NO way an expert (more of a novice, to be honest).

Hey Izzy and welcome!!! Got yourself an awesome first setup and great selection of strains. And Frank the tank nailed it. When using an organic soil it's not recommended to flush periodically, or at all for that matter, some even say no flush at harvest even....
Flushing Is usually done, like Frank said, to decrease salt build up around the root zone. But since your not using nutes there's no shuts to worry about flushing away.
Can't wait to see you get started! Glad you find our little community and joined us!!! Tons of great growers, useful information and the best vibe on the web!!! In you have any troubles navigating or have any questions feel free to send me a message or tag me @Discretepete2676 in a post like that.... See you around Izzy!

Thanks for that info FranktheTank & discretepete2676. Actually I obtained some of Mephisto genetics after I saw your post discretepete2676 on instagram about there recent seed drop. Glad to see you over here as well.

@jingo hey bud, thanks for that info. I was going to use purified water throughout my grow.
Might want to run a little tap water every once and a while. Some minerals like chloride won't be in the water or your nutrients. May be plenty in your coco, but better quality coco is also low in chloride. I'm going to start using my tap mixed with my ro water in flower. I believe it may help get just s little better results.
