where did the term "zip" come from? Better yet what exactly is a zip? I am 47 and all of my life we have used terms that refer to weight. For example , and OZ. That's self explanatory. A half, yea a half oz. A quarter...well you get it. Not clear on this zip. Are you referring to a zip lock baggie stuffed? If its an ounce, why not say ounce or oz.?
When I read someone got 4 zips from the harvest of a plant, are you saying you got a quarter LB.? Oh the LB. stands for a pound. Does 4 zips equal a quarter pound? Why not say Q.P. if so? If a zip is equal to 28 grams, do you say 16 zips or an LB? This reminds me of the Jimi Hendrix song....If 6 were 9.
