You can hook up a pump to the res level tube and both pump it out and fill it that way. i run a garden hose from it to the bathtub to empty it. Beats the hell out of lugging buckets of water!

I checked my ppm and res temp. Ppm is at 70 - temp was 70F - PH was 6.0 - As I understand it, these are all appropriate levels. I can't wait to see her mature and develop. My biggest worry so far is a Res change. I'm sure it's not a big deal, but it sounds daunting!

And do yourself a favor, invest in a good ph pen! I had 3 of those cheap yellow one fail on me, or become grossly inaccurate, ruining a grow on me!

Ok will do - do you think the ppm/temp meter is junk as well, or just the ph pen ? It does seem cheap and it needs re-calibrated often. i would love one that doesn't need calibrated at all.

The HM TDS meters are good. I've owned mine 2 1/2 years now and it still works fine. The PH meter I use is an ExTech ExStik P100. This is a meter used in labs. A bit expensive, but cheaper than the grow I lost to a shitty meter......... Many nice features and waterproof, replaceable probe, etc.

The one you had that ruined your grow, had you had it for awhile at least? This one is brand new. I'm hoping it will hang in there for the 10+ days it's gonna take me to have a replacement delivered
