Photography WoS northern lights x big bud

Thanks for all the input guys. I had actually planned to start flushing anyway, and wasn't really worried about wilting, most of her fans had died of anyway, but they were going crispy, not wilting. What got me worried was the way the buds went from tight and dense, to more loose and spongy in a day.

It did get really hot in there yesterday, and being too hot would make sense for the wilting, but would it affect buds too? Would 1 day of too hot have that much of an impact?

Also, the lockout sounds plausible too, I was feeding her pretty heavy with big bud and molasses

Bamabuds--Yes, the buds can open up when hot due to transpiration. Buds have the small leaves in the calyxes. Like little pods. Also, the moisture moves from inside out when hot so buds are effected.

But, it is just a defensive measure and won't be upset once it rehydrates.

Also, most strains do have purple stems. Very common. I only get concerned if this happens very early--like within first two weeks. Good--no sweat on the old leaves they will be yellow anyway without cal/mg and using own internal nutes.

Cheers

Thanks a lot! I went ahead and started flushing tonight. She's pretty close to ready

So..she finished up. Was sort of a let down after how awesome she had grown. Ended up with just under 3 zips dry.

The weirdest thing happened the last couple weeks of the grow. All of a sudden, she quit drinking water. Then the buds loosened up, and then she dried out. I'm talking, in a matter of 12 hours or so, the buds on the plant, went crispy, with a soggy, wet pot.

I went ahead and chopped and put the super dry buds into jars, immediately, after about 16 hours in jars, they moistened back up, to where they felt like they had been hanging to dry for a couple days. Anyone experience this before? I'm guessing that I let it get too hot and dry and probably nute locked her.

Sounds like to me that she might have just given up, she was so close to the end anyway.

Hey bama. Idk what to tell ya. Once, I over fed a plant BAD and the buds were similar to what you described. But when I say bad it was basically an experiment to see how much a plant could take and what I was giving it burnt it to shit. I felt so guilty whenever I would look at the plant that I'll never do it again. But as I said this was like two weeks of over feeding. I also waited to long too cut it the stems were yellow haha but I grew to resent the plant lol.
The buds ended up being dry, loose, airy, and smelled more like hay.

Also, when I harvest it usually takes three days and I wait until very late to cut. I have had a couple plants at this point basically stop taking water. Like one night it takes a half gallon and the next it's regurgitating a quart into the tray. But, the buds have always turned out fine. Wish I could provide more insight.

Thanks guys! I'm still happy with successfully getting some bud from her. I'll just have to learn and apply later. Now I've got 2 ST and 1 AKR seedlings that I'm gonna try to turn into monsters!

Dude that's what I love about growing. Every grow is a learning experience. You take your mistakes and shortcomings, learn from them, and apply what you've learned to future grows.
