Grow Mediums 1st timer questions on autopots.

I have ordered and recived my first autopot with airdome. I'm in a 2x2 with 200 watt cob setup. I still have some happy frog soil plan to mix 50/50 with hydroton. Do the layer hydroton at the bottom. Girl to be grown dp critical orange punch, scrog.

I'm not sure the best nutes to use I have a fox farm dirty dozen box set of nutes. Are these good for auto pots. Also. I noticed that people dont use the self feeding feature from the start. How long should a girl grow before auto feed is started?

I just lost a crop due to my own fuck up. So looking for reassurance and tips. Dont want to waste money and time again. And seeing as this is a new method for me all info helps.

I haven't done an autopot grow with soil but @pop22 does and has some wonderful looking ladies. I use just plain coco in the pots without anything else on the bottom besides the airdome. I precharge my coco 2-3 days earlier, start germing and before I plant the germed seeds I water each pot with 1.5L of light nute solution. Then on day 5-7 I give 500ml of light nute solution, 10-14 days 750ml-1L light nute solution, turn on airdomes at day 15, then depending how they look by day 20 I make up 5 gallons to start in the reservoir give each pot their final top water of 1-1.5L nute solution and turn on the reservoir. I do the final top water to make sure the pots get saturated and will start drinking from the trays.

Sorry forgot about nutes, the first grow I used Advanced Nutrients Hans/Tangs schedule, this last grow I went with Megacrop and some of their additives. I'm running Megacrop again for this grow I have going now as it pretty simple schedule.

My air dome was missing the cross conector that hooks up all 4 air tubes. I am useing the T conector it runs 3 of the 4. I dont expect this to cause to much issue

When looking for cheaper connectors, those are all couplings from the RainBird irrigation system and can be purchased much cheaper from Home Depot or Amazon.

I have on hand some GO cal mag. Being organic I know no go most times. But just wondering.

I don't think you should have a problem using it. I'm using up my Earth Juice OilyCann Calmag before switch over the Greenleafs Cal+Mag.

Started my res up. Slowly the water came up but seems shallow to me. Like an inch, maybe inch and a half. I wonder if thats deep enough to completely submerge the air tubes in the dome?

The tray normally just fills up slightly to the bottom of the pots, just enough so they can always have constant nutes when they need it. The airdomes don't get submerged it more about providing extra forced air around the roots. When you harvest and remove the airdome for next round you'll see how much roots are surrounding the dome.
