I grew out a couple blue dream photos this summer, they were kinda scroungy and neglected but they carried on. The seeds came from a friend's small commercial grow that got seeded by a hermie. Guess what? One of them hermied lol.(the bigger one). It happened late enough in the season so it didn't get too much hanky panky going but I did find a few unformed seed covers in the last of my autos. I was not paying real close attention
The good one smokes real nice, good day smoke. The other one produced quite a few seeds. They went in the trash of course, hehe.

That's pretttttty wild!!!! How does light affect them then?

They don't seem to have too much issue with the light. But then, they're pretty tucked up under the skirt of the plant so don't really get too much direct light through the canopy.

roots at surface, does this mean instant nute uptake?

I suppose they could. In my case, I'm doing a TLO style soil grow, so just plain water in the dripper. There wouldn't be any nutes to uptake right at that point (or at least not much I would think). Then again, it could be a popular spot for the microbes in the soil as that area is going to be a kind of always moist core for the soil. Lots of microbe activity in the area would in theory provide for lots of available nutrients for the plants as well. Probably an interesting question if a real soil guru wanted to dig in with the microscopes and analysis tools to see what's really going on in that area of the pot.

nasty hermies degrading fine smoke, had 3, not blue dream, that nannered this season, was on it and still got a few undeveloped seed
