Photoperiod Barneys Farm - Peyote Crit/Watermelon Zkittles/Mimosa X Orange Punch

Just a update. Shared the pic in live chat but I went in and did my 3 week flower defoliation today. Its a couple days early but it seems like these girls have done their thing. Shoots aren't really pushing new nodes out anymore just stem elongation so I figured it's Sunday. Might as well get in there and get it done today.

One thing I shared in the chat was those 2 oddball branches on the mimosa. Was told it might be polyploidism. From what I can see after doing some quick research is that it definitely is. Increased vegetation ribbon like main stem, basically every box for that is checked. Worried that once the buds swell up and get dense there that the dreaded botrytis will rear it's ugly head. I did find what looked to be spider mite webbing on some of the stuff I trimmed off already and that is what sent red flags up. The vegetation on those branches at the top is super dense already, 4 fan leaves on each side of the nodes and 4 branches coming out too. I dont think it was mite webbing because it was like a wispy ball that was just barely stick to a branch. Hopefully it was some kind of lint or something that just blew around and got stuck. I've had 0 pest problems this grow, no fungus gnats, no bugs of any kind at all. I see them dead on the intake screens on the outside of the tent every now and again but nothing on the inside. That makes me think that maybe just maybe a mold already took root in that denser vegetation. Im gonna be keeping a VERY close eye on that plant over the next week or so. That strain is a fan favorite so it would be a shame to have to scrap it. Tried to get a pic of the wispy thing I found but my phone was across the basement on my work bench, I tried to get up and take it over there but when I got up I must've brushed it against something the wispy little ball was gone so I couldn't get a pic. Its was very find shiny white contorted strands in a very loose "ball" is the best way I can describe it. Anyway that's all I got. I know in the one pic it looks like im really manhandle that top but I just curled my fingers in to keep my prints out of the pic.

Thought id circle out the 2 polyploid branches on the mimosa so yall know where the trouble spots are. One smack dab in the middle of everything so if the rot shows it's ugly head you can guarantee this whole grow is scrapped.

naah, no panic. I'll keep my fingers crossed it will work out. Those polyploids can grow nice to the end and will reward you most times with a potent product. But if you fear mold, it's better to keep an eye on them. I'd be happy if i was to find some polyploids.

Its just weird to me that they only started this formation after I split the one branch after lst. They grew the first 3 nodes like normal then all of a sudden after like a week I noticed they weren't growing up anymore and during a defoliation is when I noticed those to branches were super thick and leaves were just spilling out of every node there after.

Thats what I've been told is increased yeild and potency. I got humidity dialed in pretty well. Just temps are kinda wild right now they are staying with the 70s but throughout the day it will vary between 70-78 degrees all day. So hopefully the airflow and low humidity will help mitigate any molds from taking root.
