Photoperiod Barneys Farm - Peyote Crit/Watermelon Zkittles/Mimosa X Orange Punch

Found another interesting thing in the tent. Besides the polyploids, I have one top on the peyote critical that decided to diverge into 2 top colas. Another thing I've never had the pleasure to see. Top was never damaged or anything just decided to grow this way.

For the longest time I thought an auxiliary branch just stretched up behind and it was its own seperate top as I haven't pulled out the tent and unzipped all the way to the back since the final defoliation and never noticed anything like this starting. Not sure if this is considered a mutation. But Im thinking it is because it definitely entered flower as a single growth chute from this branch.
This run on my autos I have Sour Stomper x Double Grape that developed double branches only on the second set, really weird, I've only seen that one other time. Your plants look great and you got a lot of surprises! Sounds like of you're looking for polyploidy plants then Barney's Farm is a good place to look. I know a couple growers who exclusively grew their gear for a few years and it was all top notch fire! That was 10-15 years ago but I'm sure they have only gotten better like most breeders. I really wanna try their back pack Boyz colab Lemon Cherry Gelato!!! Looks crazy fire!

Also they have a new auto flower that's a Mephisto 3Bears OG cross!!!

Ive been eyeing up barneys ever since I got the urge to start cultivating like 2 decades ago. Now here I am actually doing it. I need to get more peyote critical seeds. Its been my favorite to grow besides ayahuasca Purple and lemon tree. Next grow Im only doing 2 plants, one DP strawberry cough and 1 in-house genetics slurricane number 7s1. Both are sativas so I wanna leave room incase they feel like filling up the whole damn tent.

I saw that, the us side of barneys farms is doing a lot of collabs with breeders from around the states. Nice to see. I was thinking about trying some of their autos but I wanna get a plant from seed to harvest without running into issues before I start up the auto train. Plus I need another tent. I should say without running into a large issue. I've tried before it turned out good, granite runtz from multiverse. But I did that one with 3 photos, the buds were kinda larfy but I bet they would have put on way more weight if I didn't have to switch to 12/12

So I think I figured out why my feeding gets so out of whack after about 2 months, Im starting to wonder if Im keeping my ph probe stored improperly. According to apera if you use it regularly you just need a drop of tap water in the cap to keep the bulb moist. Im thinking I might just start storing in kcl solution all the time. I recalibrate once every 14 days, just to make sure that Im as accurate as possible but for the last 5 or so my high point 10.01 never gets close, usually stabilizes at 8.9 to 9.4 and I think that's because my probe is already damaged, or maybe the calibration fluid went bad. The other 2, 7 and 4 always stabilize within .3 or .4 but the other is ALWAYS way off and I think that's messing up my readings and making everything slightly more acidic than I think it is.

Edit:

After doing what feels like a fuck ton of research. I figured it out, I think its a combo of a slightly dirty probe, and my 10.01 calibration fluid is expired. Even calibrating 2 point the 10.01 reads no higher than 8.8. So thinking that my probe was reading right, and it was that far out of calibration I set that ph as the high set point the last 4 calibrations. According to some of the formulas I found just that one set point being off that much causes things to read far more acidic then they actually are. Also the further you are from that set point when testing, say a more acidic solution like nutes the further off it will be. I plugged some numbers into a fancy calculator that I found and with the low set point and neutral being spot on and the high being 8.5, a solution reading 6.5, is actually a lot closer to 7.5. So there lies the problem, from now on since I know my 2 point calibration will be accurate I will only be using 2 point calibration.

Flower (end of week 6) New
So another week down. Figured out that its kinda pointless to use 10.01 calibration fluid because as soon as you open the bottle you have about a week before the ph shifts so much it can no longer be used as a calibration fluid. 2 point from now on as the neutral and low points are much more shelf stable and last exponentially longer than base calibration solutions.

With that said the watermelon as expected is getting worse. The Mimosa is too at a much slower rate. Peyote critical must have been thirsty yesterday, I heafted the pot before leaving for work and going in today it was so bone dry the whole plant was wilted. She bounced back already and I gave my girls probably their last feeds till harvest. I got about 2.5 weeks to breeder reccomended harvest window, but I know Im gonna run longer as all 3 of these strains haven't even had pistils starting to receed except where I've bumped buds moving stuff around to check the plants out. Trichs are barely starting to cloud up so Im thinking 4 more weeks. Which is what all 3 of these strains did the last time I grew them, about 2 weeks longer than breeder reccomended.

Got some pics but goddamn is the watermelon ugly! Pics are the whole tent amd each main colas on the peyote since that's the girl Im most proud of. She is starting to turn purple and is truely a gorgeous plant when she's fully made the flip. If you look at my previous journal where I grew 2 of them and watermelon skittles. The buds that come off these girls are just 😍🤩😍🤩

Anyway that's all I got for today.

Thought Id make a little update.

So the yellowing and rust spots I think were a result of phosphorus deficiency from precipitation in the the soil I think it became too abundant. But the seemed to have slowed to a hault with my last feed and the plain waterings on both the mimosa and watermelon. They ugly as all hell but I really dont see the plants getting worse. Also it looks like the breeder window on the peyote might he dead on. Lowers leaves are slowly yellowingband dying off. I know its got food so I should probably start looking at trichs with my microscope soon. I did let her dry out really bad and thats when the lower leaves started turning yellow. So bad that I thought it wasn't coming back.

I know that watermelon zkittles looks horrible. And i think everything was stunted till this last feed too, the buds have bulked up a bit over the past couple days and they hadn't grown over the last week. Same with the mimosa, but he buds haven't gotten noticeably bigger yet.
