Mephisto Genetics Chemdogging, Sour Livers, Fantasmo Express in RDWC

Update to Day 14

Ha ha - the Sour Livers in this grow hasn't finished with testing me. I just noticed that the one remaining specimen is a possible mutant!! I'm almost sure the main stem has kind of divided in two. More pictures to follow on next update. Anyone had this happen before? I'm thinking it isn't such a bad thing & I'll get 2 main colas?

Gals look great, and you would be surprised what a runt will sometimes do.

Cheers mate!

BTW I just looked through that paper you posted the link to - genuinely astonished at what our friend Bacillus amyloliquefaciens can do! Even degrading crude oil from soil!!. And the list of benefits to the plants themselves goes on and on. Very glad I took your advise to invest in the Hydroguard. Excellent information.

I love having beneficial organisms in my water/soil, they seem to do a lot of the work for us! I picked up some kelp meal and brewed kelp tea as well, then forgot I had it. While I was making my tea I found the bag, so I need to make kelp tea next and apply that a few days after the tea.

Pics would be great, I love freaks and mutants. I currently have a male that showed some fasciation and other mutations, but he is growing out of it. Seems it may have been due to old seeds (ten years stored) but it is interesting none the less.

LOL me too. I'm going to try and photograph what's going on but it's quite packed with growth in there - but certainly looks as though the main stem has sort of divided in two. Nature's so amazing.

BTW I also think these Sour Livers seeds were also old or somehow genetically damaged.

Do you LST or super crop your plants? If been told super cropping can do that to the stems.

Hi mate, I do LST but not at such an early stage. I have not touched this plant yet and so am pretty sure it is a mutation. Let's see what happens. I have had problems all along with this batch of Sour Livers seeds but that's what growing is all about!!

DAY 16
Nutrient 0.8 EC, 23C, pH 6.1
Temperatures: Day 28C Night 24C RH 53%

Back for another update and again, not much to say except the girls are doing great. The tent is starting to take on that sweet smell we all love and I have done a bit of leaf tucking on the Chemdogging. They are much, much bushier and dense than the Sour Livers or the Fantasmo Express and can see the first defoliation starting probably next week. There is definitely something strange going on with the main top on the Sour Livers but I need her to grow out a bit before it will be clear but I think she has a double stem going on. Anyway here are some new images. Cheers.

All looking good mate, I have done many many many sour livers and there is a very high chance 9/10 that the plant will grow out of that mutation. out of the last 18 or so I have done at least 70% showed mutations of which 95% self corrected and the other 5% were just double tops which I find real cool anyway. Since they went past f5 they have been showing these signs but with no negative effects at the end and the real bonus especially for someone like me who does minimum 6 of same strain at a time is that the pheno groupings are so tight now due to the excellent breeding that come harvest you would almost think you have used cuttings :smoking:

Thanks for that great info Vincent - really good to hear from a Sour Livers veteran. Have you had germination/early growth issues with this strain? From 5 seeds I got just the one to get to where we are now. I'm going to try again if I like how she turns out. More than likely I screwed up somewhere. Thanks for following my grow mate. Cheers.
