Mephisto Genetics Chemdogging, Sour Livers, Fantasmo Express in RDWC

DAY 21 - end of week 3
Nutrient 0.9 EC, 23/24C, pH 6.1
Temperatures: Day 26C Night 22C RH 60%

The girls continue to impress. I've had no issues at all so far (first time this has happened since starting DWC 3 grows back) - I normally would have at least one plant showing symptoms of something not being quite right. Perhaps using more than just base nutrients this time is why I have no nutrient related problems? Anyway they are flying and it is a pleasure to get back from work each night and look at them flourishing.

With the defoliated vs left alone chemdogging plants - the difference is minimal. The defoliated ones look a bit neater but they are such beasts that they seem to have regrown most of it in 2/3 days and overall growth (branches etc) is pretty much the same as the non-defoliated girl. Unless major differences appear in flower, then there doesn't seem to have been much point in defoliating this early.

View media item 19502Sour Livers - looks normal but trust me, she's definitely mutated - double stem etc.

View media item 19504Fantasmo Express 1 - very open structure and flowering at a more advanced pace than the others

Looking great man. How tall do them chemdoggin get for you all natural no lst?

Thank you mate, appreciate the comment. On my last grow in similar conditions they were about 70/80cm tall at harvest.

DAY 23
Nutrient 0.8 EC, 21/22C, pH 6.3
Temperatures: Day 26C Night 22C RH 60%

Spent a long session in the tent today getting the girls into shape for flowering. Pruned off weak shoots/branches, defoliated a bit more and tied the remaining branches into position to give an even amount of growing space to each. The pics were taken immediately after so the plants look a bit ragged but they should regain their composure in a day or so. The chemdogging plant (CD1) that is being left alone also had a bit of a prune but has had no defoliation.

Although they are really healthy and vigorous, I've noticed that root growth is way down on my previous grow (also chemdogging). The only differences in environment I can think of are:
1. Higher res temperature - 23C - last grow was 21C and I have now dropped the temperature this time round to 21C
2. I'm using bacteria this time round - Mammoth P & Hydroguard - last grow was sterile
3. Other additiives I didn't use last time include Katana Roots, Cal-mag & Silicon

It's a bit odd and I can't figure out why there is less root growth whilst the plants are as healthy or even more healthy than my previous grow. If any one has any thoughts I would love to hear them. Thanks and happy growing!

*** UPDATE ***
I just remembered there is another big environmental difference between this grow (OK root growth) and my last grow (massive root growth) - the lighting cycle. Last grow was on 18/6 - this one is 20/4. Could this be a factor?

View media item 19526Sour Livers - if you zoom in you should see where the main stem has doubled

View media item 19528Fantasmo Express 1 - least happy plant in the tent. She's clawing and has gone into flower much earlier than the others

View media item 19529Fantasmo Express 2 - nice open structure, hardly needed any defoliation but I have tied the branches into place

Nj @Faction you can see right through them perfect light penatration

Thank you mate, appreciate your kind words :) BTW, did you read what I wrote about the difference in root growth between this and my last grow? Any ideas on that? It's really strange but I'm not getting stressed because the girls are doing great. Cheers.

I'm still a soil guy but if it's growing fine don't worry. I've had plant produce way more roots then needed I was watering every other day it sucked. And this plant I got going roots are way better.
