Sorry to mislead. The pup was part of the joke. No pup here just 3 cats. They barely get along with each other much less a dog.

Yep rinsing them in a strainer for 2-3 minutes until the run off is clear. Just going to use the same AN stuff that I've been using.

I have tent envy now *sigh*. I take it you're not opening the whole of the front up to its full height? Because it looks like you've put the extension on back to front... Not that I know anything about tent extensions LOL! It might be supposed to go like that...

Nope it's supposed to be like that. The paper instructions were shite but the how to video that I found was top notch. I am sure I got it right, but now my OCD self will have to watch it again just to quadruple check that I've got it right. Thanks a lot Elle.

I watched the video again and I got it right - the seam on the extension is supposed to be in the back. yay. Pots are full of rinsed pebbles and draining overnight before going in the Wilma. Time to pick out some seeds and get them germinating - god I hate this part. Let the fretting begin

Ok so I am in the doghouse twice over (so far) today. I swear that I am totally innocent. But a bit of back ground is in order before I tell my tale.

The wife had scarlet fever as a child. The end result was that she has a 20% hearing loss in one ear and 70% in the other ear. This embarrasses her a bit so she doesn't ask people to repeat themselves when she doesn't hear what was said. She just smiles, nods, and laughs when she is not hearing. This has been the source for many funny encounters. Like the time a friend had come over before I got home from work. They were listening to music and he was telling her about his crappy day. About how his car had fallen off the jack while he was underneath it. He was pinned with damage to his ribs and sternum but most of the weight was on something else. Lucky for him a neighbor had seen this and rushed over to get the car off him. With the music in the background, the wife wasn't hearing most of what he was saying, so she smiled, nodded, and laughed through the story. I arrived home as he was leaving. He repeated his story to me out in front of the house, but he didn't understand why my wife thought it was funny. I had to tell him that she probably had not heard much of what he was saying. We had another friend who picked up on the smile, nod, and laugh routine. Whenever he noticed her doing it he would stop and turn to her and ask, "What did I just say?" That was always funny.

So anyway, I had forgotten to take the meat for dinner out of the freezer until later in the day. When I took it out I said "I hope this shit thaws". A moment later I went into the room she was in and she asked "why would you say that to me?" My response was "because it's true." Now she looks pissed (us pissed not uk pissed) A bit later I came in to smoke a bowl and asked if she wanted one. "I'm still mad at you" she says. It finally dawned on me to ask what she THOUGHT I had said. "I hope you shit frogs" was her response. I had a good laugh and then told her what I really had said. She had a bit of a chuckle but is still pissed. Still a bit about what she thought I said but even more now for laughing, even though she laughed too. Sometimes ya just can't win.

I have hearing lost too and I know how Mrs. Duckster feels. I mean, I mean if you lose your sight people are more likely to feel sorry for you, but if you can't hear your subject to rude treatment. People get frustrated and say never mind, or just forget it. In the States, blind people even get an extra deduction on their taxes. Hard of hearing people don't get nothing but a hard way to go! Ok, I'm done with my rant now and tell Mrs.Duckster I know how she feels!

I get what I call ‘the fear’ when I’m talking to people with a strong accent or in broken English. This happens most days. I’ll ask them to repeat about twice and if I still don’t get it I do the smile and nod thing because it makes me feel like I’m being rude.

Sometimes it’s totally obvious what the person is saying but my brain won’t work it out because of the pressure of the situation.

Fookin nightmare! My Mum’s husband is VERY Welsh. I dread him answering the phone! [emoji23]
