Green House Set up

Hi all, I will be trying to set up my greehouse this spring and not having messed with an OD house like this in more years than id care to think about lol.and i was wondering if anyone can offer general tips and ideas to what to be on the lookout for or to re enforce and similar things where tears might occur (other than general places obviously lol) and anything of the like spot weld bars or brackets... ill be diggin it out before long and trying to set it up and take some pics and maybe you all can help me out once I do start tinkering..?Thanks everyone!!:Sharing One:"AFN smoke out""AFN smoke out""AFN smoke out"

if i recall the roof it tapered and its got a beam on it about ten feet, and maybe 15 feet long. so its a decent size so that'll be awesome. ill get pictures and things up soon'ish within a few weeks prolly.:Sharing One:

Hi EOF, we use fabric shelters for livestock. What I have learned is that any place where there is frame to cover contact there is potential for excess wear. Using duct tape to cover anything metal that will contact the cover will really help.

Reflective or white covering on the north side of the greenhouse will help maximize light in it

What are yer temps like? Thermal mass can even it out absorb heat in day release at night. Black painted barrels of water work well.Also gonna need lots of air flow.

yeah it only has one opening i believe but ill be putting a box fan to start with during higher RH n low breeze action.Thanks! man,the temps are way too low this month but in another cpl months or so i plan on breaking it out to try n get one frigin large harvest with some solid genetics with some fast finishes from HRS and some others.:Sharing One:

Hi EOF, yeah you don't want any direct metal frame to cover contact. Movement of the cover caused by wind over time will slowly create wear spots where it touches the metal frame

So yer using the tape as a runner surface. ...good idea. Instead of metal wouldn't pvc pipes work well...cheap...light..smoooth.

Yes PVC will work fine for small structures. Just make sure it is heavy enough to stand up to the wind load that it may be subject to. EOF already had a metal frame so that was why I was suggesting duct tape

Yeah sound advice oldster.. any idea fer a guerilla greenhouse. Im thinking of building one in Valhalla. ...one of my more secluded spots with a fantastic exposure and geographical cover. I worry about structure noticablity and reflections.

Take a look at Wall-o-Water, they provide warmth and protection for the first month or so and once night temps are warm enough you take them off. Light and easy to pack to a remote location and you just have to fill them with water once you are ready to set up
