Sour Crack Kids are 24 days old. First time not topping. Experimenting once again with defol/training and removed first nodes and first popcorn level of 2nd. My goal for these is pretty much zero popcorn/larf/whatever else you call it. I know theyre supposed to be “small“ plants in size and yield already but being it’s just my third grow I’m still learning how to shape these babies to fit my plans. Got some light pulling and leaf tucking going on and theyre all pretty happy. So far.

That frost!!!!! You're in for a treat. I gave away about half my sour stomper harvest to friends and they've all said it's some of the terpiest, most flavorful and enjoyable high of any bud they've ever smoked. I agree with their assessment. I have like 10+ strains of dispensary weed sitting around the house and they've been untouched since sour stomper was ready to smoke.

Yeah they are definitely a joy to grow! Big colorful frosty aromatic buds that you ALMOST don’t wanna chop down haha man I’m telling you these would compliment the poinsettias on the porch so well!

Plants on day 5 in dry tent. Reached in the darkness and clipped a small Sour Stomper bud….

This is all it took for me to forget I was holding a joint in my hand…

I was expecting another day or two of dry but after work today they looked and acted like they were ready to go so I jar tested some buds for a few hours and got 58-60% rh. Yikes! Turned on hockey, put on the gloves, and got to cutting and bag stuffing. For 3 hours. The first bag took 100 grams until it was full enough for me. I didn’t weigh anymore after that because I had a crap load left and for my situation frankly it’s unnecessary and tedious. I stuffed all the bags similarly and ended up with 5 of them (and a stuffed ounce bag that’s mixed with all 3 plants for immediate dispatch).
So my exact yield is 5 big ass bags and change. I‘m gonna need a bigger wine cooler I’ll tell you what.

Sour Crack at day 32. The only show in town. Would be germinating today now that there’s an empty tent but I just ordered some 24 Karat and will wait to get one in the mix.

As it turns out, I’m not a fan of not topping. I’m glad I have plants I knew would be small so I wouldn’t have to worry about light issues, but I prefer working with a nice spread out topped canopy. Because they are small (and because I have a shit ton of bud in the cooler) I sacrificed yield to focus/experiment on shaping the plants like I hope to with my bigger cultivars. I’m finding it’s gonna take quite a few grows before I have a solid “to the day” training, leaf tucking, and defol method. So I have to get back to updating for my future self.
I’ve done complete defol to lower third except a couple fans that are not blocking light or air and trained the first 4 nodes. I’m leaving the rest to nature because (a) I want to observe how the higher nodes grow and reach for light and (b) I don’t want to stress or interfere with the main cola’s growth since I’ve never seen one grow before.
They‘re sleeping now but this is a few days ago…

Dropped 4 beans in distilled water yesterday for a 24 hour soak! Using the cultivar descriptions I picked 4 that should make for a well rounded grow, 3 Mephisto and 1 Night Owl. I decided not to wait for the 24 Karat because each day is too important.

The plan of 3/4 plants every 30-40 days is falling in to place. I’m trying to bulk the supply in these cooler months and not grow August-October.

Moved the plants to the big kids tent where the light is fastened high. Little kids tent with the light on pullies officially occupied with beans, light is about 25” away on 60% to get an average 76 degrees and 4 gal humidifier running to average 70% RH.
