agreed with smaller wattage working in 4x4s i had a bp3000 (300w) and bp1500(150w) that did my tent fine in a middle side by side hang setup, those qb style leds i don't think spread the light as good as bar style but the plants grown in my 4x4 were huge happy and my biggest yet.

I'm using a 660w(710w from wall) light now and I'm seeing the same greatness but everywhere in the tent, even the corners and how far down it penetrates is insane.

Those new style bar/strip lights really do blow away previous style lights, especially a blurple!

So its only been, what 2 hours since I went downstairs and uncovered my girl to see how she was. I realized I left my basement light on so I went downstairs to turn it off and of course my obsessive behavior told me to just look. I guess the 2 min of brief light it got was enough its starting to poke thru already! I mustve really confused her by planting too deep, once she got light she shot straight up.

Now there is a point at which the plant says fark it and just goes into flower and does it’s life cycle thing.

I haven’t found what that trigger is though

We are about 99% sure the flowering mechanism for autos is root resistance and root pressure. There is also a timer. But it is way longer than previously thought

just meaning if the root cap doesn’t ever get that proper pressure to trigger flowering, it will go into “Hail Mary” mode and realize the roots aren’t gonna get that resistance and they go ahead and flower

I have also found a trigger to force flowering, greatly reduce the blue/violet spectrum range, increase red spectrum ie. 620nm, 660nm red and start a 730nm far red on a 15 minute sleep and wake schedule. Works every time.

I think if i planted it in the right depth this would have been a day or 2 ago, like someone said it looked like she was searching for light for a pretty long time, once she found it that was it. Hopefully the cotyledons turn nice and green soon from being so light deprived and i can worry a lot less
