Hey guys,

What should my water levels be with my setup? Right now I have the rez half way up the net pot and the top drip feed system running. Should I lower the rez level to right at touching the base of the net pot or should it be higher?

I pulled the seedling up higher and put the smallest growstones around and on top of it and bigger ones around the sides. Just would like to know what is best in my situation and I'll follow the advise.

Smeggy

water to the bottom of the pot until you have good roots. Then lower it an inch or so. The airspace is good for the roots and will help keep them healthy.

Thanks Pop,

How long should I be running the drip system? 24/7 or short intervals? I've been running it constantly and I'm seeing vertical growth and first set of leaves popping out. Does the drip need to be regulated?

Day4 Update:

Here's a pic. Haven't got any feedback on how long to run the top drip feed so I'm going to run it only 6hrs a day during night time which my timer is set from midnight to 6am. Not sure if this will help or not. I also put a humidity dome over the seedling to keep it from getting splashed on and to build up the humidity.

Not sure if she's stunted already or not, no sign of a tap root out the bottom of the net pot yet.

not sure about the drip times mate ? ...regular intervals would be better than 6hrs on 18 off im guessing ....more importantly is the water droplets on the seedling .Remove the dome bro or the water will act like magnifying glasses & burn / stunt / kill her :Sharing One:.

Thanks again D Dub, dome removed.

Found a good article on how long to run a drip system:

I cut a 1L coke bottle top and bottom off so I have a straight cylinder to shield the seedling from getting splashed and staying soaking wet from the drip system. Hope this helps the first set of leaves to grow faster.

Hey Smeggy,
Stopping by to see how you're doing. Looks swell, nice little greenster ya got growing! Looks like you will nail this DWC stuff and grow a nice big girl! Well done!!
Have to :slap: you for this!

Good link, thank you. Then only person I know that used a drip ring, did so until the roots hit the water. Stop the drip then and the roots take off, seeking for that water. one of my little Northern Lights had roots all the way to the bottom of the res after only a week!

Thanks buds,

Here's a pic of the splash guard I nade for the little one. When the roots pop out od the bottom I will put another air ring on the 2nd pump outlet and really get the bubbles going.

Will the v-20 handle 2 bubble buckets? I night start a 2nd bucket with a Think different or super skunk.

I like the shield, good idea for sure! I'm not familiar with the v-20 but It should run 2 buckets ok. If not you can always add a second smaller pump. I plan to upgrade to a commercial air pump, but for now, I'm running three separate pumps, one for each res. I'm thinking I'm going to T the lines to the plain water res and put a valve in t o shunt the air to my other 2 res. I'm only going to bubble the tap water for a couple hours before I use it in the plant reservoirs. this will give me more air to both my grows. I've also got some better and larger airstones coming. Not that what I've got hasn't worked! Just slowing making this system the best I can. Will be converting all this to an RDWC after my grow of WW is completed.
