Hello I'm in the high desert of California and just planted my first set of auto grows..Candy Kush, Lemon skunk and great white shark...Now, when we planted our first set we were under the impression that we had to add flowering soil to our fox farm grow medium..After the fact we researched that that method was incorrect...How will this effect the growth? Also, we live in a climate that gets pretty cold (slow as as 20 degees F) but we have a greenhouse..By the way we are doing this outdoors..when the babies get about four to six inches we will remove them from straight sunlight to greenhouse do to nosey neighbors...Any tips or advice that you can give us would be greatly appreciate it

I'm not sure what you mean by "flowering soil". Can you elaborate? If you are using Fox Farms Ocean Forest, on it's own the high levels of worm castings and guano it contains can be a bit too much for auto seedlings. It's considered a "hot" soil, so it's usually recommended that it be mixed with another soil with less or no nutrients. Happy Frog, Sunshine #4, Pro Mix, etc. Also know that FFOF has had issues with low pH. Some bags have been as low as 5.0. Best if you check and adjust the pH before use. If you have one of the low pH bags it's very likely you will need to add some dolomite lime to raise the pH.
