Howdy,

Cheeky title, I know, but it's pretty accurate I think: I grew a plant from Stitch he passed off as a blueberry. Was a nightmare looong flowering sati, though it turned out to actually be an auto (some kinda super auto). By unforeseen events she got pollinated by a reversed onyx auto, from Short Stuff seeds, which is a strain also bred by Stitch.

The original onyx were good plants. The blueberry and onyx cross were from original seeds. I was happy about the nice accident because the seeds of this cross that I've grown have given very different phenos and all were autos and all exellent plants (see the freedom grow in my signature). But was it a fluke grow?

I've sown four more of these beans and they're at fourteen days and they're all girls. Oddly, this batch all look identical so far, totally unlike the last lot. If this run turns out like the last, I'll give Stitch props, reluctantly, but I'll do it. Maybe there's still good genetics in that mess somewhere.....

All in 1.5 liter airpots, coco/perlite 50/50, bioponic nutes at EC 10.0 and pH 5.9. Mars Hydro LEDs.

Cheers.

Just read some your Blueberry journal (some at the start, some in the middle and the end result!), not sure how I missed that one? I know that waiting experience from a KVS grow, good luck with this project!

Thanx man. Yeah, that waiting bit -- wouldn't wish it on anyone! How'd the KVS turn out? I hear it was a killer strain when it was right...

I grew one of his fruity og kush last summer, took ages to auto and ages to finish.
I talk to stitch on FB and he said back then alot of his genetics were a bit messed up.
I met him at spannabis on Friday and had a good long chat with him and he says that all that is behind him now and his new batch of "super autos" are guaranteed to auto although being super auto's they do take a little longer due to the size of the plant.
He seemed open and genuine on this subject so I'm prepared to give him the benefit of doubt

lol so stitch's last stand is being done with seeds coming from plants he's never seen, bred by someone else. Sounds about right LOL

I'll tell ya, just on his former rep, if he has got his shit right, and a couple of grows actually demonstrate that, I'd probably give him another run myself! Yeah, I'm a glutton for punishment.

Dude, how do you figure that?! Those blueberries were ordered from him direct! On his say so! Far as I know onyx is reputed to be his work also. I just crossed them. How does that render them "Plants he's never seen, bred by someone else."?? This is as much his work as anything else he's done. Seems like a fair take to me--! Besides, I think you'll find in my thread I've been nothing if not patient and fair with his guarantees, they just didn't pan out like he said so, so I said so!

South, you were very tolerant with the blueberry grow. It is a sign of good character in a person.
Good luck with the Blue Onyx. Maybe they will become your pride and joy strain. If so you will think back to your blueberry saga and be grateful it happened.

I'll tell ya mate, that's kinda the reason for the grow and the thread. Like I said at the get go: I've already grown four examples of this cross and they were all superb! I put these four in to verify it wasn't a fluke. My gut tells me it wasn't. If this turns out like I hope, the conclusion can only be that good genetics still lurk in some of those unfortunate Stitch 'questionables'.

Kinda makes me think that if a hack like me can just put two phenos together--and that by accident--and get decent plants, perhaps it wouldn't be so hard for the guy Stitch was (and maybe still can be), to fix his shit. I'm kinda hoping so....

The Kush Van Stitch when it finally finished/I became bored (140+ days) was a lovely smoke but, having taken twice as long as advertised to finish, extremely frustrating! Knowing what I know now, I could have done 2 grows in that time and not had such a tent hog! Having only the one large light caused problems for the younger plants I eventually started after realising ('Delectable Delores' as I called her) was not going to finish in the stated time.

I really hope that Stitch has got his act together now, he was at the time very quick to blame 'others' and I feel it did tarnish his reputation here at AFN. Having said that, there is no doubting he has some top notch genes if he can smooth the waters? I would like to have another go at KVS some time in the future but, I would get regular seeds and move on from there!
