Outdoor Crow's GG at 56ºN

Less than 24 hours later and the @Sawney_bean autos are growing in number. Two Small Lecter now, a second Purple Moon Rocks. I had to rescue the first PMR as she had her cotyledons stuck in the 'sock' of the Jiffy pellet, so her root was poking out instead. No Black Triangle Kush yet, but still time.

Bit of an update on the other autos from the first wave, which were put in Jiffy pellets at the start of the month.

A mixed picture really. Some strains are doing fine. The Bubbleicious are going great guns, ready to head to the polytunnel soon. The Mazar is also growing well. The Finnish Blueberry are okay, bit small and a third one (out of shot) is barely started. One Super Kush is fine, while the other struggled a bit recently, possibly overwatered. She's recovering but uncertain if she'll make it outdoors. Finally the @Sawney_bean Blueberry (top left) is a bit slow, not sure if she'll do much.

So I've got six robustly healthy seedlings, and three that may or may not survive.

Bit of an update on the autos the other window.

The Mayday planted autos are doing pretty much as expected the last time I posted about them. The Bubbleicious are very vigorous and healthy, look like they should do well. The Mazar is also doing fine. Two of the Finnish Blueberry are doing okay, still compact but healthy enough. A third, stalled seedling is dead. One of the Super Kush is doing alright, the other has stayed small and is struggling a bit. Might not bother putting her outside, maybe in the polytunnel or she might stay by the window. The Blueberry seems to have some odd mutation and has only produced one tiny true leaf. I'll give her time, but not holding out much hope there. So that's six nearly ready to go out, two that will have to be nursed along further.

Nearby we have the later plantings, the @Sawney_bean autos. Since the last update a second Crystal Meth has joined the party. So we have a full complement of that strain, and the Purple Moon Rocks, Skywalker and Small Lecter. Plus a single LSD. No Black Triangle Kush have shown unfortunately.

Some of the girls will need potting up soon, but it will be several weeks yet before any of this lot will go outside.

Bit of an update on goings on.

I took four autos from the windowsill, just the biggest ones, down to the polytunnel yesterday evening. It will help free up some space for potted up seedlings.

Autos before heading out, the two biggest are the Bubblelicious.

After potting up, next to some herbs.

The three Auto Ducks are coming on apace, I'll put these girls outside soon.

Back by the window, the @Sawney_bean autos are mostly ready to pot up.

With some good sunny weather forecast for the next week or two, I decided it was time to put the Auto Ducks outside properly. I built a small enclosure for the girls with mesh and chicken wire, to deter foxes mainly. Then it was out with the girls, a quick drink as well to tide them over until it rains.

Back in the polytunnel, the autos are all looking healthy (all in the foreground in the pic below). The Bubbleicious are getting tall. I'll have to put some of these girls outside soon.

Did the rounds yesterday evening, plants are all growing, no evidence of the slime brigade either which was nice. Reckon the dry spring really cut numbers back this year.

The Auto Ducks are thriving, they seem to be growing quite fast at the moment. Originally I was going to top them and try to root the tops, but I can't be arsed. I might bend the tops over to keep them low, or I might just leave them to do their thing, haven't decided yet. Seem to have two distinct phenos, slightly different growth patterns and leaf shapes.

Over in the jungle section of the polytunnel, I took four girls away to plant out: two Auto Bubbleicious, and two Frisian Duck fems. New residents are two Finnish Auto Blueberry regs. This is the jungle after the switch. Not so many Ducks now.

Didn't manage to go the Bramble plot earlier, so it's been a fortnight. The good thing about this time of year is it's light until 10pm, so I can arrive, work and leave in the evening when there are not many people around the area nearby.

For the autos, instead of individual holes I dug a short trench through the Bokashi layer I put in there months ago. Planted one at either end, then backfilled. Rather than separate cages I brought a roll of chicken wire and made a big loop, with the roll still attached. The idea is I can expand this as I bring more autos to the plot. They can be spaced a bit closer together than photos and cages for each plant doesn't make much sense. They'll all go at this end of the plot, but I can keep some flexibility depending on numbers.
