Dropped 2 seeds to soak late today. Will be planting 1 of them into Rockwool and 1 into an EZ-Gro Plug in the morning.

I’m going to run one in a 5gal DWC bucket, most likely will be running House & Garden Aqua Flakes nutrient line. It will be going directly into a rockwool cube in the morning and instead of using Hydroton I will be using a new-to-me product called Arqlite Smart Gravel in the net pot.
I was giving up all soil grows until next year but since this has the potential to be a beast I'm going to run one in soil also. Not sure on the nutrient line for the soil yet. Will be pondering on that for a few days.
I have Gold Leaf, Foop and Fox Farms Trio at the moment but not sold on either line yet. Open for suggestions.
Look forward to seeing what I can do with these

Unfortunate update, neither Rucu Cucu germinated for me. I have one Rucu Cucu P/F seed left and going to back up and punt with these for now. More to follow when I figure out a game plan.
I dropped multiple strains at the same time and all have germinated without issue. I do have a Thunder banana and an Apollo Black Cherry that are doing great and most likely will run the Thunder Banana in DWC and the Apollo Black Cherry in one of my new GroBuckets.

As of today I also have an Apollo Black Cherry that is rising up to meet the world

I will be running the ABC in a GroBucket system in soil. It’s not ready for the big pot yet but I went ahead today and set it up.
Here’s a little bit of that process and setup

I’m still working out my outside grow space but plans are for this one to be grown outside

I started out the Thunder Banana in Rockwool and moved it to a DWC bucket this morning. I am using Arqlite Smart Gravel instead of Hydroton with this run.
Here’s some photos of that setup
I “double insulated” one of my DWC buckets and also added a layer of insulation to the net pot lid. I’m hoping with this extra insulation I will be able to easily maintain lower water temperatures, longer throughout the day.

This is just insulation material I picked up at Lowes.

A little update for the two I did get started and the Rucu situation. I’ve talked to Mark and he will be getting me some fresh replacements as soon as they are available. Stand up guy for sure ! Thank you Mark

I would imagine the Rucu will be grown at a later date TBD.

Apollo Black Cherry Day #17

The DWC Thunder Banana is doing well, haven’t seen any roots poking out yet but if I remember correctly all my DWC start like this and once the roots hit the water they explode with growth. Don’t imagine that will be much longer. Been watering/feeding the rockwool a small amount, with a syringe as needed.

The Apollo Black Cherry is looking a little strange to me, not sure what’s going on with it but will be moving it to the GroBucket tomorrow and going to add some goodies to the rootball and hopefully that will take off as well. The leaves just look so strange to me

Almost ready to move all soil plants to my new greenhouse. It’s been an exhausting rush to get it all done before we start our Summer “Lake Mode” and our beach vacation time. It’s way too hot in there at the moment, (was 109 when I checked it this afternoon) so hopefully I can figure out the roof venting system tomorrow.

Day #28 both (my hillbilly math was off on the last update lol)
Thunder Banana DWC and the Apollo Black Cherry in Soil/GroBucket system.

The Thunder Banana(TB) in DWC is starting to take off like I knew she would. We have roots in the water and I’m going to be laying on some nutrients this evening and some Hydroguard. The last couple days growth has really increased significantly. I find DWC so much easier to deal with and much less of my time is needed for these. The downside is I have to run a cooler grow tent to keep my water temps down, unless I want to buy/build a chiller. This will be my first Autoflower using this method, so we will see how it compares to my Photoperiod grows in DWC.

The Apollo Black Cherry (ABC) has been growing great, maybe a little slow and bushy but the structure of the leaves always looked funny too me. I realized I was behind on getting her moved to her final home

The rootball wasn’t packed “tight” like I normally see so I’m hoping that she’s ready to explode with the new home .

Here’s some of the process moving her to a 5 gallon GroBucket system.

She was my first Cannabis Plant in the new Greenhouse and she’s went from droopy to spreading her wings and standing up pretty! I’m watching her very closely to see how the environmental change affects her growth.
Got her in there with some Squash and Green Beans at the moment. There’s plenty more varieties that will be joining them soon.

I did decide to use some DynoMyco feom @aridynomyco and used @St. Tom method and weighed out 11g (was shooting for 10 but gave up lol) for the rootball hole. That may just give her the kick she needed LOL
Saturated soil with the 10% method and then filled the reservoir till runoff with RO water PH’d to 6.4
As always the soil is a mixture of old and new Happy Frog with some organic promix added in. Everything is sifted really fine and amended with some 4-4-4 and worm castings .

Week 5 Day #35
Thunder Banana DWC and Apollo Black Cherry in Soil/GroBucket system.

The TB is Growing up some and stretching out. Almost 10” at this point.
She was fed lightly from the House & Garden Aqua nutrient line schedule @1/2 Week 4 last Thursday.
Mixed : A-12ml,B-12ml, Amino-2ml,Roots-2ml, boost-2ml,Zen-8ml
PH 5.7
EC .6
PPM 300
Temp water 67.1f
Air temp 73.8f
I will be feeding full schedule week 5 tomorrow.

ABC appears to be doing well in the greenhouse now, stretching out really nice, so far.
She was fed yesterday rainwater and FF Trio mixture Specs:
PH 6.6
EC 2.0
PPM 980
Which was basically added to the GroBucket reservoir. Through the float tube. Not sure how that breaks down once it mixes in with the reservoir water. I may need to research how others are doing it in these systems. Have actually wondered what would happen if I dropped a small air stone down in one, through the tube ? Might be interesting to see lol.
