Extraction Hash. Tips, pics and whatever.

I wanted to put together a thread about the making of, and consuming of hash, with pics (if anyone else would like to share their efforts, please do.) I'll put up the tips and tricks I've found, usually the hard way, and any easier methods than those commonly out there.

The thread is based around dry sift hash, as this is my staple, but again if anyone wants to post their tips for whatever version they do, then go for it. I'm not a hash snob, so will be exploring different methods myself.


I've always been a big hash fan. My first smoke was pressed hash in the very early 90's, where I laughed for at least 40 minutes. Buds were a thing of myth when I was growing up, but there were loads of hash varieties - sticky black, red seal, gold seal, slate, even the dreaded soapbar to name but a few. Some were poor, but some were really good. Most of that skill is lost today, when there are so many different and excellent extracts already. I have created BHO, QWISO, tried shatter, ice hash and others, and for me hash is still the best of all worlds. It keeps the taste of the bud (somewhat), and is usable in joint, vape, and pipe. Easily stored, easy to handle, and is not expensive to make.

Nice looking hash you got there,i have never attempted to make it as i have always made hash oil with my left overs....but that hash you have there would be nice and strong im sure....i spose i could imagine what it would be like,i made some oil with 2 oz of white widow bud,it was very strong and goooood.very nice buzz,:smoking:messy as shit to handle..smoke up and enjoy...

Hi that looks like some nice stuff. I've only tried it once with my first grow it was amazing cudnt believe I had made it it just took me back to when I was a teenager ain't smoked it since then.
I used the mesh out my dryed at 1st to seive it but it wasn't very good so ended up using my grinder. It took me ages but it was worth it.
So the way I done it was
Ground all my dry trimmings and seived I only done it in small bits so put it in the plastic wrapping of a cigarette packet fold it all down tight and tape up.
Then wrap it in paper tape again and wet.
Put in oven on 175c for 10 mins take out and roll
As easy as that

Just got a new box for my next grow had some trim left i had already seived and forgot to throw away put it in the box and still got a joint

Nice looking hash you got there,i have never attempted to make it as i have always made hash oil with my left overs....but that hash you have there would be nice and strong im sure....i spose i could imagine what it would be like,i made some oil with 2 oz of white widow bud,it was very strong and goooood.very nice buzz,:smoking:messy as shit to handle..smoke up and enjoy...

Cheers mate, I will definitely smoke it all up. I used to make oil as well, BHO. But so difficult to get decent butane at a reasonable price now, no dry ice etc where I live, so hash was a good alternative for me. I still make some quiso with the final remains of my grow, but it is such a pain in the arse to smoke I'm getting a small stock of it.

Nice work. I used the same method for my first few runs of hash way back in blurry history.

Very nice looking starting material there. I can taste it from here.

I use a similar box myself to process. Homemade this one.

4.4g of pressed Jamaican hash. Just over an ounce of trim. I'm currently trying different methods, and timings to see how much of a difference it makes to the product. This hash was just pressure, and no heat - 2 days in the press. The heated one should be darker, and more oily - I think at least.

Very nice. I would love to give this method a go myself, but you can't get it around here.

Do you just use ice hash bags and mix, or is there a different way to do it.

Bigger question, how does it smoke? Do you still get bud level of flavour, or is it cleaner?
