I am new to the forum but not new to horticulture. I am about mid thirties, a woman never wants to admit her age, as irrelevant as it becomes after 30. I studied Bachelor of Science, Masters of Science and JUST finished my PhD in Science early this year. All through my studies I have focus on plant biology and applications in medical science. I fell in love with growing and plants when I met my great grandfather and his African Violet collection.

I have ALWAYS been against Marijuana and 'Illicit Drugs'. Then I had a VERY BAD car accident. I was on Morphine for ages and almost lost my liver as a result. Clearly traditional meds weren't working and curiosity and pain led me to Cannabis. It had such a profound effect on my life that I focused what studies I could on it and here we are. The condensed version anyway.

I didn't like buying the drugs here is Australia and when I lived in California, the cannabis wasn't as good as could be grown which has led me to the inevitable point that we are at now. I tried growing a few plants in uni days for study but it was so highly regulated that I gave up.

Plant wise, I like to think I know it all ( I don't ) but growing wise, I am as fresh as they come. Sure, I have a massive head start over a LOT of newbies BUT plants, like people are so higly dynamic that no matter how well I know how to grow and diagnose say, Jade/Emerald Vine ( Strongylodon Macrobotrys ) Cannabis is a very different beast thus I am here to learn and soak up all I can.

I look forward to meeting all of you eventually.

Special shout out to BillyWu who's think different grow led me here, impressive work mate. I am reading a lot of you other guys, you all should have been in my PhD program.

And have some fun!

Hey MissRetribution, I am also new to the Network. And new to Auto's too, but i have grown Photo period Mj in the past. I started to study Cannabis when i was 16 and have been fascinated by the plant ever since, must of done weeks of studying and researching. To me its not just something to smoke to get high, even if i didn't smoke it i would probably still grow it just for fun. Anyway, big hi from me :) What are you growing ??

Welcome!

Your background will help us a lot. And we would be glad to
offer what help we can.

There is a medical forum for med issues, Mossy will invite you in if you want.
There's a New Growers Forum, and I spend a lot of time there.
Most strains are not fussy, but between doing it indoors (for most of us)
and trying to get the most growth, that can complicate matters.

I take a different tack, I use simple and cheap methods. Right now
I am using self watering pots, but I may graduate to Air Pots.
The self watering pot is a baby step in the direction of hydroponics,
some of the benefit without the hassle.

Anyway, nice to have you here, read the stickies in New Growers, and
keep us posted.

For those that will be interested in a grow thread;

HERE IT IS

That will detail every step of my personal growing journey. This is purely for me, my medicine and quite honestly my enjoyment. I have come to embrace MJ as a wine, so varied and beautiful in nature.

Welcome to the Family Miss.R "Cokey"Very glad you joined us

:styles rasta: Enjoy the site, there is lots to learn, but from my experience if you are endowed with a green thumb it comes pretty natural, cannabis is pretty easy if you know what all is going on behind the scenes so to speak. Its growing that super dank that thats the tuff bit. What emphasis are your degrees if ya don't mind sharing? :peace:

Welcome to the Family Ms. Retribution nice grow thread you have :pighug:

Welcome to AFN MissRetribution! I'm sure there will be many future threads in which we'll be picking your brain and exchanging ideas :pass: Glad to have you here and will be checking in on your grow! :karma Cloud:
