If people are imprisoned for marijuana offenses and it becomes legal they will have to let them out no? I'm not a law expert so I don't really know how it works.
I think we can all agree that if it were just legalized tomorrow and suddenly soccer moms are being hospitalized for being stupid and eating half a pan of brownies filled with kush and naivety there would be some problems...

They will drag their feet until they cant drag them anymore. And then, because they are deceptive little fuckers, they will ONLY do it when it best suits them. They have been holding this card in their pocket forever. Watch, as more about the NSA activities, and other crimes against their people get uncovered, THAT is when they are going to move towards legalization. There will be rhetoric about how it should be our freedom to choose, and the war has been a failure. They will use it as a way to distract the people, just like they do with every issue. Thats the beauty of the way that it operates. We pay for all of this shit, but at the end of the day we are not the ones making decision. There are people pulling the strings, and shaping public opinion constantly. We put up with all of it because there really is no other options. Every couple decades people get fed up, and they decide to throw us a bone or two. But for the most part, things don't change. People generally just don't care enough. They can't be bothered. Its sad.
But you are right, people have much more power than they think they have, but to take advantage of it everyone needs to be united. We couldn't be further from being united. I don't know if theres ever been such a polarity between viewpoints other than perhaps in the 1960s. At the end of the day, nothing you believe is worth a fucking cent. The only thing worth anything, is your dollar bill. That is the reality of capitalism. Do NOT give your money to causes that you don't fully support 100%. Do not financially support anything that you dont believe in.
You don't like the way big pharma operates? Don't buy ANY of their pills.
You don't like the way big food conglomorates poison people? Only buy organic food.
You don't like how every aspect of our economy is corporatized? Support a fucking small business for once instead of going to applebees every week
You don't like the way that the "Industry" rapes art for profit, while the quality continues to decay? Don't listen to their radio and TV stations, but BUY the type of art that you like.
You don't like the way that the country is spending your tax dollars? Quit your job, collect unemployment, and stop paying taxes :roflcry:

I found this CNN video very interesting. Especially how this documentary was months in the making yet it comes out right after Holden's announcements. I felt like it did present an unbiased opinion for the most part. There's parts of the video where you find yourself saying what about tobacco or alcohol but I think they took the right approach overall.
Regardless of what politicians want to happen weed will be legal. I see it happening on a federal level within a few years maybe sooner. The truth is finally mainstreamed and there's nothing the government can do about it now.
