Being the inventive type I always look for ways to do things better/easier. Not having much money forces my creative side to take over. While contemplating how I would run the trim from my first grow, I decided bubble hash was what I wanted to make. I'm still a few weeks from harvest, but have begun my homework for the task.

I have seen the washing machines out there and they made me think...What if I used my old electric ice cream maker. I could fill the outer tub with ice/salt and super chill the trim and ice/water while it stirs it automatically in the inner tub. Run for 15/20 minutes then pour through bags.

Anybody tried this? Any thoughts?

Haven't tried it but it sounds completely plausible.
Let us know how it works out.

Thanks chemli and llynnboy.

After more thought on the subject, I think I will try it. Since I will have the :group:ability to super cool the outer water I think I will let it run with water only until it is almost slushy and then put the trim in without ice. Do one run like this, bag strain, and do a second run with ice.
Anybody?

If you get small bags or fold them over you could put them right in the inner bucket.

Thanks torch, I thought about that, the way the agitator works in the maker, I think it would be better the way I plan. just not enough room in the tub for a bag too.

Here's the inner tub and agitator.

Hey I did this once. Only one little problem. There is nothing in the water to stop it from freezing fast. Ice cream contains fats, sugars and salts that retard the freezing process. The trim became a block of slush in minutes the a mass of ice/trim block...mess. It took a long time to time it out and by the end of it all I went back to the bags. I hope'youhave better luck in your attempt and remember gloves. Everything hits sub zero fast. Juliet still makes fun of me over that adventure.

Lol thanks for the advice Romeo. So take it easy on the salt in the outer tub then so it doesn't get too cold. Maybe no pre run and cooling of the water ahead of the trim going in too.

Good luck bud. I really do hope it works for you. Its a great idea and if you can come up with a technique please let us know. Those older style ice cream makers are a dime a dozen at garage sales.

:peace:I'm still 3 weeks away at least I would say. I will update here when I get done. I plan on running 4 plants separately so I will have some time to experiment. Thanks for the input people, it's all appreciated.
Here's a look at what I will be running, should be good judging by the frost now! These are all 54 days from seed.
