New Grower ILGM's GDP & Blue Dream Autos planted april30 Organic vs FFoF vs Miracle-Gro. 2nd time grow

Day 1
  • I should call yesterday day 1 but its whatever its when i notice most of them sprouted but today when lights came on i noticed 100% germination rate (still waiting on tomato)

I lightly misted the soil in a circle then added barley straw and repeated on top of that for each plant. i removed their clear cup domes as i am keeping the RH high as i can inside the tent.

    Day 1

    Lights:
    bp3000, bp1500
    Light height: 30"-33" from soil
EDIT: After reading the bloom plus manual i decided to say fuck it and follow it, 100% power both lights germination 30", seedling 24", veg 18-24", and bloom 12-18" in 7 days i'll lower both lights to 24" and call that seedling stage and 7 days after will be "veg" and lower some more from there.

    Environment:
    Temp ~ 71.2°F - 81.5°F
    RH ~ 60% - 88.1%

    Day 7
  • Week 1 is done and it looks like we have some good growth. It appears my woman's miracle-gro gdp is the biggest plant so far but things can change day by day.
I got something growing next to a blue dream, in pic below, I'll yank it up soon.

    Week 2 Day 14
  • Another week has passed and they look as if they doubled in size :smoking:

I have been keeping them "heavy"-ish, every other day i spray enough to keep the tops a little moist and every 3 or 4 days i lift and see if they are half the weight from where they started if so they get a little more water to keep them heavy, no measuring just lift science.

    Week 3 Day 21
  • Today I decided to cut off anything that was in my way near the soil or if i thought it was wasted energy on a bottom tiny branch I cut it. I'm not scared to test things now as I have more bud than i can smoke from my last harvest, my fear then was i would not have enough until next harvest, those fears are GONE now.

After cutting leaves and branches I added a bit of BuildaFlower and mixed in less than 1/4 cup of buildasoil's Craft blend in each pot and watered the top dressings in a little. I'm making some banana peel fertilizer but its taking forever to make so I'll add that next week :smoking:

I measured how tall each plant is since this is kind of a test vs soils so the results are:

    Miracle-gro hers GDP 11.5"
    Miracle-gro his GDP 15.5"
    FFOF 5gallon GDP 7.5"
    FFOF 3gallon BlueD 13"
    FFof 5gallon BLueD 8"
    Organic 5gallon GDP 14"
    Organic 5Gallon BlueD 14"
    Organic 3gallon BlueD 14"

    Week 4 Day 28
  • I'm impressed with this grow so far and already notice a hell of a lot less issues than my last grow with what seems x2 the growth. I took some bleach cleaner and a rag and cleaned the whole bottom tent tray out as it needed it and then I took measurements of how tall everyone is again and will compare it to last weeks below. I felt lazy today and only took side by side shots of the girls in groups of their soil type.

Watering whenever I feel like it is working out great so far, I keep them heavy and if I'm super lazy for a day or 2 I get a light pot that just gets heavy again when i start the process over again. I would say i water everyday or 1-3 days depends on if i get busy on a weekend or not :smoking:

    Week 5 Day 35
  • I removed the runt gdp in ffof on June 3rd and put it in my 2x2 since I could not get 4 seeds to pop which is a 1st for me as I even soaked 2 of them and the other 2 were direct in soil and nothing after weeks of hoping, nothing, seeds will be seeds.

Today I fed my plants a compost tea that brewed for 36 hours hoping that will give some good stuff to the soil, I went with 4 gallons of rainwater, 1.5 cups of buildaflower, half a cup of craft blend, and 1/3 cup molasses.
    20210608_104145.jpg
These GDP autos are so much bigger than my last grow, feels good knowing I improved this much. Here is a picture of my last grow of gdp autos my biggest and my smallest:
    20210508_093115.jpg
I think they are done stretching now but i could be wrong i have much more room for the lights to go up so I'm not worried if they decide to get 2 feet bigger but doubt they will. I expected blue dream to be the bigger plant of the 2 strains as it has sativa in it but whatever :smoking:

You decide which plants look the best but i like them all lol
My woman's miracle-gro plant is the bushiest and thickest trunk of the bunch but I like the organic gdp in 5gallon and the blue dream ffof in 3gallon the best, shorter plants but both have very nice looking buds so far.

I'm still just playing around with light heights before i figure out how I will net/string them up, if they are strong i might not need to do shit but I'm thinking the buds will get heavy and flop them over.

    Week 6 Day 42
  • Well the big flower stretch has finished to a degree, the ffof "runt" is still pulling some good gains and catching up to my woman's miracle-gro plant. So much for being a runt huh? :crying:

    20210615_151039.jpg

As you can see in the picture i had to make a net for those 3 tall girls in the back, $1.37 for 150yards of the stuff way cheaper than a $20 net on amazon. :smoking:
The middle tall girl (my miracle-gro plant) is so heavy she looked like she was going to snap her stem or knock the pot over so i figured it was time to make or buy a net. This is my 1st attempt at making it and i might need to add more to it later but it works for now :smoking:

I bought some cheap $5-6 organic tomato fertilizer 3-5-6 and top dressed a tablespoons worth into each pot 2-3 days after i gave the compost tea, which i maybe should of waited lol but i'm a learning farmer here so i tried it anyways. The end result was 3 plants got tip burn and they all were my organic soil i mixed up. Maybe my mix has a bit to much nitrogen in it, the other plants seemed to enjoy the compost tea and the tomato food i gave them but not those 3 haha they still have frosty buds just ugly leaf tips now.

    Week 7 Day 50
  • Yesterday would of been the start of week 7 but my internet was down.

Nothing new this week just bigger buds. The organic soil plants are still not happy with the overdose but i learned something and won't repeat it but I'm still very happy with the other 4 happy plants. As always the 2 miracle-gro plants are the best in size and buds followed by ffof and my overdosed organics are last. i have another plant in my 2x2 in organic soil doing great and i did not feed it the tomato food so i can guess it was the 3-5-7 food that was the overdose.
They all proved to love the buildaflower and craft blend but when you add some extra food on top of that sometimes you get burnt, sometimes you get 4 super plants and 3 burned ones haha.

    Week 8 Day 56
  • Another easy week, I added buildaflower to the 4 healthy plants and decided to not add anything to the 3 ugly plants but they are looking more green than last week.

After this grow it has shown me that 4 plants is the max for a 4x4 unless i do nothing but grow tiny plants like red poison or bloody skunks, i might get away with 6 of them in a 4x4 but not blue dream auto and granddaddy purple auto

The sick plants are recovering a little but i'm not to worried about them as i see a ton of work with the healthy ones when its their time.

    Week 9 Day 63
  • Week 9 and i feel the 3 ugly plants are just a waste of space in the tent, i doubt they will get any bigger as i have not noticed a change in them in 3 weeks just some new green growth on the bottom of them and a little bud swelling. The shortest ugly might be ready to chop this week.

The 4 healthy plants are doing GREAT, I'm pretty proud of them and can't wait to chop em and start something new
