And that is the one down side to 50V chips 95% of driver are targeted to 36-72V chips ( Cree has been king too long..lol ). Ask the guys at northern growlights, they've done all that homework all ready. So you pay a bit more for drivers, a bit less for chips. Pricewise, its a wash between citi and cree unless your running the citi 1212. The 1825 is priced around the same as the Cree 3590, but truly offers more performance.
and new chips are due soon from both Cree and Citizen, Bridgluxe new Vero chips will be out any day now. Watch for prices on current chips to drop.
Except for Cree......they'll bring out the new chip, and re-bin the older ones and still try to charge $50 a chip..... I like Cree's chip performance but their pricing leaves a bit to be desired. The Citi 1818 is equal to ( if not slightly better ) the 3590, yet sells for $26 vs $44. $18 a chips certainly makes up for needing an extra driver!
