Hi Guys

I made a slight mistake in my post where I said I was looking at the 135W Blackstar, I actualyl meant the 100w as the 135w won't fit in my case unfortunately. Will the 100w still do the trick?

Sorry for all the questions!

Cheers

EDIT: Here's a link to the one I mean http://www.blackstarled.com/10bl2wch.html

@cosmictraveller - most people would use that for supplemental light, just to fill in dark spots in the grow area the Coverage Area: 1.5' x 1.5' (2 Square Feet) is good for a very small grow area tho

I think any heat issues with the 135W will be lessened getting the 100W and less chance of bleaching though its' leds sit on a reflective panel that newer ones don't have, makes me think it could add heat again... As I said this is the older version of the 135W so I haven't seen many reviews on it. Here's one and acouple prices.

I used their ebay page and had a great transaction with them the 135W is pretty damn cheap on there to, got it for less than the first link, just to back their legit-ness. also they have 99.9% positive feedback. Goodluck on your choosing, soo hard with soo many brands and version ay:peace:

I found this link very useful... made a few of my own... works amazing and you can do it custom to what your looking for for like 10-25% of buying one... hope it helps...

forgot the link:

highly recommended for tight budgets... super simple..

Summary:

A 33 watt grow light made from 19 blue and red LEDs. Each LED is glued onto a broiler pan which acts as a heat sync. This light should be excellent for growing many forms of plants and algae. It cost me about $113 in parts and shipping to make this unit. I estimate this light to be equivalent to a 300W HID/HPS grow light.

Special thanks to Green Pine Lane for sharing the original concept of a "cookie sheet" LED grow light.

Hookup:

3 strings of RED LEDs - 5 LEDs per string
1 string of Blue LEDs - 4 LEDs per string
Each LED in a string is connected in series
All strings are connected in parallel through terminal strip
Power:
The LEDs have different power requirements.

Blue = 4V @ 700ma max
Red = 3V @ 700ma max

Power Supply 16.2V

Will not drive LEDs to full capacity.

Blue = (3.5V @ 600mA) = 2.10W = 4 LEDs = 14V (one row)
Red = (2.8V @ 600mA) = 1.68W = 5 LEDs = 14V (three rows)

Resistance - E = I * R

(16.2V - 14V ) = 2.2V

2.6A power supply / 4 = .650A

2.2V = .65A * (R)
R = 3.38ohm
2.2V * .6A = 1.4W
Buy four 2W (or greater) 3.6 ohm resistors (one per row)

Mossy my 6 spot is a little less watt than yours and the most I have had under is 4 x 17.5L pots but if its just to keep plants alive I would hang it high and fill the 1.2 m x 1.2 m floor

So how many could i fit using 3L airpots and how many in 7L? does the pot size mean more pots if there smaller?
