New Grower New member, new grow. Mephisto Cosmic Queen and Mephisto 24 Carat

Great plants you got here and also great photographs! I found your post a few weeks back and saved it to follow up with later as we have a lot of similarities hah. I started a 24 Carat and a Cosmic Queen about a week or so before you in a 2x4 tent and also live in BC. Your plants are shaping up very nicely and look very similar to mine at that stage. Mine are day 76 and 72 today and are still showing mostly clear trichomes but hoping to harvest within a week or 2 as I just got my seeds from the boxing day sale lol. I've noticed them fattening up a decent amount the past week or 2 so Im glad I didnt take them down early. Ill be following along to see how yours progress!

Glad to see you check in. I would love to see photos of your plants if you have them, and get details of your grow. Is your 24C a week or two ahead of your CQ like mine is?

I'd say they're both ripening at about the same rate, CQ is a few days behind as the first seed I tried to pop never germinated so I started another 4 days later but they're both just starting to get a few amber trichomes on the fan leaves and still mostly clear and some cloudy on the actual flowers. I've noticed a big change in the past week so I'm planning to chop next week around days 84 for the 24C and 80 for the CQ.

I took a few photos this morning with my cell phone so they aren't great but it does ok. I haven't used my actual camera in a while but I should really pull it out and get it going again. Added the imgur link at the bottom as it messes with the formatting mid paragraph. As for details I'm growing in 5G fabric pots in a pre amended coco/perlite mix, feeding with fish bone meal fertilizer every second or third watering since about day 35 or so and using a 260W alibaba QB. I think I've actually got some light burn on the CQ from it at full strength as some of the outer most exposed leaves and top leaves are showing what appears to be light damage. This is my first indoor grow and first time using LEDs so I'm definitely learning as I go. I grew outdoors this summer and experienced the same issues as you did, cold wet September that forced me to chop early and lost the majority of my bud to rot which is what led to me try autos indoors over the winter lol. Planning to try a few of the new artisinals from Mephisto this year outdoors so that they finish before September.

Hi @31drew31 Drew, nice pics! Your 24C is very similar to mine, lots of leaves in the cola, but there is some serious bud hiding in there. The CQ seems a bit more developed than mine is yet, but my lady is still piling it on.

I also had issues with light, as far as I can tell, my DIY lights were too strong unless kept at half power or close to it. Likely just my design mistake, I went almost twice the watts per sq ft recommended for LED's. I had read specs suggesting that a grow could use up to about 60 watts/sq ft, but it seems that either that was BS, or it was for older light tech. At any rate, it seems that I have lots of power if I ever wanted to go to a 4x4. Thanks for the pics and good luck with the rest of your grow.

I gave them a haircut yesterday to get rid of leaves that were going yellow and shading other greener stuff. The CQ may not be quite so far behind at this point but it has a ways to go still, so the jury is out.

Beautiful buds you've got there.
Lots of nice colours on the leaves, thick swollen calyxes, no new pistils shooting out, and I see some amber trichomes scattered about

Me too, and what amber there is is on leaves not calyxes for the most part. I will be keeping a close eye on the 24c's, but they seem to be moving along slowly.

I agree that the 24C's are getting there, but, so far, nearly all the amber is on leaves, very little on calyxes, and there is quite a bit of clear on them, so I think I need to hold fire a bit longer, I want the couch lock end of things. The colas on the 24C's sure are solid though - I am going to get a decent yield off them in spite of my screwups. Ditto for the CQ if she keeps bulking up. The anticipation is hard to keep a lid on! It sure will be interesting to see what the cured buds look and taste like.

They are looking great, OF. Looks like a week or so for the 24k, as I like at least all cloudy trichs when white hairs are still going. I didn't see any trich pics of the CQ, but she's looks ready now. No white hairs, swollen calyx. She looks finished to me! What a beautiful plant! She will be a big yielder. Nice growing!
