I was wondering can any1 plz tell me if its ok to measure Nutes for 5 gallons of water to top off my rdwc system ? Any help greatly appreciated Ty :toke

Not fully understanding... so you got an RDWC system already with A nute mix in it.... you wanting to take a 5 gallon bucket of water.... add nutes to that.... then dump into the System? If that's what your saying.... i wouldn't do it....... I would just add RO water into the system directly, bring the lvl back up. Then add the nutes one at a time, giving it proper time to circulate thought out the system and properly mix.

I wouldn't run the risk of nute locking the entire system.

I was thinking if I measured it out Nutes 4 four gallons then it would mix evenly but to add micro on top of Nutes already mixed would lock it out

Most of what I've read and followed recommends topping off with water only, until you have added enough back in to match the original amount (ie...once you've added 2 gallons of plain water total through topping off a 2 gal rez, refresh the nutes). Alternately, top off with plain and do a swap once a week or so. The way I understand it, just adding more nutes to a partially depleted system can be an issue because you're adding back everything at full strength, but the plant might not be using as much of some components. For example most fertilizers use the three number XX-YY-ZZ type designation. So while your plant might have used 90% of the XX in the mix, and 85% of the YY, it may have only used 10% of the ZZ depending on which phase it's in. So then when you add back in 100% of everything on top of whats left, there's going to be an overabundance of ZZ compared to XX and YY. Particularly if you're going off of TDS/EC to determine when and how much to add, as a meter only tells the total of everything and not how much of each component is present in the mix.

Ok since you put it that way I get it now thanks didn't think bout what the girls already have eaten. I have a four 5 gal pot system and an epi-center 5 gallon bucket what I should have done was make my epi-center like a 20 gal container notes for the next grow learn as you grow btw Thank u

So if my ppm drops 2 round 400 ppm then I can give them more food I guess I wouldn't have to flush the other water out as much either I was completely draining the whole system and refilling it twice lol this would make it a lot easier learning so much info love this forum AFN kixxs ass
