Subcool Supersoil UK version a few questions.

Jillybean is nice. I have grown six of theirs, and it was Deep Purple and Space Candy that blew me away. The first smelled and tasted like grape soda and the second like lemon Pez candies. TGA is my favorite for photos, and I live in Southern California where they are based. I was doing chemical hydro too. One word of advice, heavy feeding does them very well. Even Space Candy wanted heavy fertilization, she is suppose to be danty. Jack's Cleaner yields the most for me. Intense sativa with a strong buzz and lemon taste.

Hey Dazed I am running TGA in super soil as we speak and am in love with the grow. Both plants could be keepers. I am running the Jilly Been. They smell just like orange cream sickle its freeking awesome. One smells a little more orange than the other and the other one smells a little more skunk. I like the smell of the one with the more orange its a unique smell. There is also a cream or vanilla smell mixed with it. Very surprised at the odor. Coolest smelling plant I have ever had. I will take a pic tonight of the progress and post. I am growing in the photo section under " Grow and seeds " I think I am on day... O dam I am on day 51 and have not fed any thing but a little cal/mag and it was just to be safe cuz I use bottled water. I have only fed 2 teaspoons of cal/mag per plant whole grow. My next seed order will include some more TGA seeds for sure. These are the nicest plants I have ever grew so far.

Hay bro do you have a link to your TGA grow? I love the sound of the Jilly Been, I'm hoping I have enough room to run a few reg seeds as the TGA stuff looks amazing.

I have joined the conversation late, i know. I've found this soil mix post really interesting and would like to ask some questions.

At what stage/age of the plant should this mix be used?

Do you layer it on? i.e. pebbles, super soil then a lite mix on top?

Can you use this mix in pots, indoors?

What was your final mix that you used?

Keep up the good work!

No worries bro I'm going to be resurrecting this thread once I get set up again, the soil is still cooking so should be well broken down now ready to rock. I'm actually going to supercharge it in a few days with some oats :headbang:

I don't put any pebbles in my pots. In the past I have layered the soil 1/3 supersoil on the bottom, 1/3 Allmix then 1/3 Lightmix, that's if I'm doing autos. If photo's , I would veg them in Lightmix then when transplanted into final pots it would be 1/3 supersoil, 1/3 supersoil/Allmix blend, 1/3 Allmix on top. I will most likely also add castings to the Allmix/Lightmix. Yes this can be used indoors that's all I do. If you look back a few pages you can see the final mix but I added some more rock dust and cut down on the perlite/coir to get the aeration ratio more like 30%.

All these amendments are from the UK too :pass:

Grow and seeds. I hope the link works Dazed. I messed up the grow :( still ended up with some of the best buds I have ever grown but my yield sucked.

Looked frikin' awesome to me mate, Jilly Bean too-very nice. It's trial and error with supersoil no doubt. I'm probably going to run a bottled nute plant next to my supersoil until I've got it balanced, that way I won't be messing up two plants if it isn't right lol.

With the strong possibility I am going to be able to grow again very soon, I'm wanting to supercharge my soil. It's been cooking a while, over 4 months, everything should be nicely broken down now. Any ideas guys? I'm guessing to be a purist I need to get some organic oats from somewhere- What do I do - leave them to sit in some rainwater for a day or two then water the soil?

:smokeout:

Here is the mistake I made. Because I was using bottled water I though I had to add a little extra cal/mag once and a while to my watering's. I had added extra crushed oyster shell to the mix on top of the normal amount of lime in it and also watered once with some molasses which is when I started to see my problems. I think if I would have just trusted my original recipe and not used the cal/mag or molasses my grow would have been just fine. I might cut the amount of blood meal in half though because I am using steer manure in my upper layer which is adding extra nitrogen to the mix. I did not see any sign of the nitrogen running out late flower or it being locked out so the cut to the blood meal and only using bottle water should be perfect. The mix I am working on this grow though is for my autos. That will be the real tricky one to get right.

Did you add both lime and oyster shell? I thought if using Roots soil there was enough in there? Can't get Roots over in Uk which is why I added extra oyster shell, gypsum and chicken shells. My issues with previous mixes was not enough calcium and magnesium and the aeration ratio's were off which made matters worse. Especially using LED, it strips it right out, usually see it in first week of flower but have had it as early as 2 week veg! I have epsom salts to add to my teas or foliar which can sort any Mg problems if they start.

With the auto's, I'm sure just cutting the mix a little more will work.

Ya I did not need the oyster shell. I did need the lime though. The roots has a low PH out of the bag. The Roots has great aeration. I switched from happy frog to the roots due to the texture and aeration.
