Subcool Supersoil UK version a few questions.

Did you add both lime and oyster shell? I thought if using Roots soil there was enough in there? Can't get Roots over in Uk which is why I added extra oyster shell, gypsum and chicken shells. My issues with previous mixes was not enough calcium and magnesium and the aeration ratio's were off which made matters worse. Especially using LED, it strips it right out, usually see it in first week of flower but have had it as early as 2 week veg! I have epsom salts to add to my teas or foliar which can sort any Mg problems if they start.

With the auto's, I'm sure just cutting the mix a little more will work.

not sure if your still active on here but ive ordered everything to make your soil recipe up...just wondering if it went well for you!

It did work well, it's tough for Autos because it's too hot for them at the start then not enough towards the end. I always brewed up some teas which helped a lot, I went back to bottled organics once my batch finally ran out. I figured mixing soil, cooking it for 3 months, making teas, foliar sprays, etc etc, may as well use Biobizz and have to mix nutes just once a week, much easier especially as you can add extra goodies into the soil first like seaweed meal, silica etc. Good luck hope it works out for you.

ah yea i thought it might have been...would you say you got better results from the super soil and tea's or is it the same to just use some biobizz bottled nutes? yea i think i might even go for a bit of a mix like you said...maybe put some seaweed meal etc in the soil and leave it then use bottled nutes alongside...or let it cook and let it sit and use it for my photo's if i grow some again!

True supersoil is best for photoperiod imho, you can transplant into it and works much better. I haven't found much difference with bottled organic nutes, in fact my last auto run with biobizz came out phenomenally, just grow/bloom/topmax and some epsom salts.

yea ive got the ingredients so im gonna give it a go at mixing it up leave it for a while and use it for my next photo run in a month or two...with your tea's what did you use to 'brew' them? did you use the ingredients you had bought or did you use a different recipe? No problem I used biobizz nutes on my last photo runs and they were spot on but my PM nutes never seemed to give the same with the autos I grew out...so gonna try an auto runwith the biobizz and see how they come out...

yeah,plugging/Tiering help for the hottness of the soil. a few teas or even just two with a good flower top coating works and will help stave off issues in it lacking down the road.

yea ive been told to mix it up as like 1/3 super soil to normal soil or to as you said layer it and use big pots to provide enough nutes..everyone seems to mention tea's but I havent found a definitive recipe to use at the moment!

Mate keep trying with it, Eyes is the man you need to ask about all this. If you can keep experimenting with soil and get it dialled in with your own system you will not be disappointed. I just don't have the time or space to mix soil anymore. Tea recipes aren't really my forte, @Eyes on Fire can certainly help you there, I used a simple fish tank bubbler usually with worm castings as a base.

No problem, appreciate the help anyway...just having your recipe was an absolute saviour so bigupsss for that...helped with finding the products within the UK and knowing which ones to go for rather than trying to find a uk equivilent of each one...like all i kept seeing was Kelp Meal which was a pain to find apart from some vegan hipster drink additives that cost a fortune...went on ebay and found seaweed meal for a fraction of the price which contains everything needed!

@Eyes on Fire would it be possible to get some help with a tea recipe at some point please :) I will post up what ive got or send you a pm not sure what suits you best...i have a rough understanding of the tea's but where there are so many different ones to go for im finding it hard to decide...ive got a rough understanding of what i get from each item ive bought in terms of nutrients/minerals etc but how to apply them would be a massive help!

@Dazed ohhh, hangin in there man, hangin in there.LOL

yeah man, uhhh a tea recipe is good to use. Layering isnt as good as ppl think it is. especially if its super hot or too weak which is generally the case man. but take the amount of dsaid layer or whatever and mix it with coco and soil. maybe a lil perlite and some casting but nothing hardcore.mix all that uup then pot up the pot with the soil. it helpe it feed more evenly and reduces some of the POW of the hottness of the soil to the fresh early roots.

Very informative thread @Dazed, good to see you around mate! Hope you are keeping well?

Had a few hours on the train and smashed through it. Will have to go back and give some likes. and slaps. Came to the conclusion that in a small apartment and small grow space the time and effort is probably not really worth it! Will keep yours and @Eyes on Fire recipe on hand when I get a farm somewhere hot..one day maybe.

PS. The "curse" of LED and organics still remains..
