Subcool Supersoil UK version a few questions.

My brother Dazed :bighug: So just looking at your mix, I would make a few adjustments. First off, your aeration is too high. This will cause cal/mag issues. Your aeration level should not exceed 30% but should be as close as possible. This number is always determinant of you start base mix like Allmix. By adding coco and perlite, the mix will be way to aerated. Also remove the lime. No need for it with the oyster and gypsum  Also if it were me, I would up the volcanic rock dust up to 1/2 a cup minimum. Working with what you have and can get, this should be a pretty rockin mix but make sure to let is cook at least 2-4 weeks before using. Hope that helps and much love my brother :pass:
Dub V i know you are right man and have plenty of experience with this so please dont take this the wrong way.
I do have one point to argue though its a matter of fact that the more aeration in your medium the bigger the root mass.
For example when i grow in soil i always use a 50/50 mix of perlite to soil and this method always produce's the biggest hardiest plants.
I have used the above mentioned ratio but the plants never get as big and fruitful. as to what i previously stated.
Maybe something for you to experiment with Dazed?
Just thought i would throw in my two cents i hope i didn't offend anyone.

Thanks so much Dub my friend! I thought I could get away with a little more rock dust :) I'll increase that to a whole cup, that stuff is great. I'll also drop the lime and cut the amount of coco and perlite! Glad you could stop by and help out brother, it is much appreciated as you know. :bighug::cheers:

Hey Grim bro, not at all no offence this is exactly what I like on my threads, every opinion has worth here. I am going to to run two 20ltr pots, so on one I will experiment and add some more coco/perlite and see if the results differ. I can totally understand your reasoning and obviously your experience has shown you these kind of things and I really appreciate you commenting here. Hopefully the info contained in this thread by everyone can provide anyone who stops by with good solid info on building soil, I'm learning a lot, I'm sure others can too! :)

Sorry I'm rambling lol, I'm going to get the mix cooking this week and will get myself some beans ordered ready for action. I'm feeling more confident than ever with these revisions to the mix and want to say :thanks: to all you guys for the help!

All mixed, watered with some rainwater and molasses to kick things off and left to cook.
