Grow Mediums The Best Hydro Feeding Guide In The World... EVER !

My foolproof nute plan is simple and seen 200g off single plants regularly, most recent grow was a delicious seeds La Diva at 120g dry weight, this plant was supposed to be tiny!
Setup is;
Hailea V30 (These guys are pretty much silent!)
2 15L buckets
hydroton
2 vipar 400w LED lights (cheapest chinese tat, but they've been great for me!)

I use the following nutes;
RO water
silicon
canna aqua vega and flores
plant magic magnecal
rhizotonic
PH Down
canna PK 13/14
Fresh root riot cubes

And I've succesfully grown large dense versions of the following;
DP think different
DP auto blue mazar
Emerald triangle headlights kush auto
Delicious seeds La Diva
Greenhouse seeds auto super critical

First off, for germinating I just pop the seed in a damp root riot and leave it to do it's thing, 100% germ rate using this method for me. I stick to canna's feeding chart and usually aim towards the stronger feeds, Don't look at the amount of weeks suggested, go by the verbal descriptions of the plants. I also leave my buckets until they are almost completely drained, checking every 3 days or so on the PH and adjusting with silicon/PH down as necessary. Silicon and magnecal are added at 12ml/15L bucket, PK is added full dose to the 2 buckets after the buds have fully grown in length. If I see nute burn on any tips I just add in an extra litre or 2 of RO water to that bucket.

And that's it, no bud boosters or brewed tea and every plant I've grown this way have stems thicker than my big toe, root balls that fill the bucket and dense, dank canopies :smoke:

So if I'm doing my first auto grow..auto jock horror..do I start my germination in my hydro system or can I start in my germ kit like I would normally since I heard autos don't like the three transplant transition

I have never done rdwc...but I have been purchasing all the components to give it a shot. A few weeks ago I came across : hydroponic-research.com
They have a 1 part powder for veg+bloom - along with a few other support products for increasing flowering and probiotic life.
Now Im not sure if its the "holy grail" of feeding - but I have read a few 50 page threads on other forums...and grow results look very good. Also, the company gives out free samples. I ordered some to try out...you may want to look into this further.

Thanks Tee, so sorry for the late response Ive been off stoned as a bastard. Strikes me down like this now and again, I could do with a dope jab but always forget to go the doctors.

You make it sound very easy and simple. I reckon it can be if you have the right approach

Im using filtered water with a zero ppm/EC and was about to ask how much cal-mag to use.
So your using 12ml per 15 litres is that right? Just under 1ml per litre.

Any idea on EC readings when you start things off and at later stages of growth?
Or do you just listen to the plant's needs and adjust accordingly?

Yo,
Yeah, I fully advocate diving in at the deep end and expecting to lose a seedling or 2 at the beginning.
I also have big problems with winter, it took me 3 weeks to do my last load of laundry :dunno: so you've got my sympathy there!

calmag and silicon have both worked well for me on the safe side of 1ml per litre. When I do my actual feed I start with a full bucket of RO water, add in canna aqua vega/grow according to the EC+ measurement on the chart below, then add in my calmag, silicon, rhizotonic (rhizo is about 20ml at the beginning down to 5ml once the root ball has hit full size) which should bring your EC up to a bit under the EC total amount. Then I look at the plant, decide if it needs anything inparticular (extra silicon is useful if you think your branches aren't thick enough for example) and add in what I think may work out well up to the EC total value. And finally add in PH Down drop by drop until it's 5.7ish. Then the plant goes into the bucket, first thing the next day I look for signs of leaves clawing or any discolouration and add in a litre of RO a day until the curling stops.

This versatility in treating problems is such a major advantage over soil, overferted plants will take a week to get back on track in soil and it's literally a matter of hours in dwc.
