    :welcome:
My goal is just to have fun and give myself an abundance of seeds to play with, all seeds used as breeding stock were purchased seeds. To start off right I am using Coal Miner’s Daughter F5 auto regs from Gnome Automatics. Beyond pollinating CMDxCMD I’ll be attempting to make 13 crosses.

Some of my favorites I’ve grown and some I’ve never tried too should be fun. These will sprout in this 2x2 but be moved over in 5 days to make space for a battle plant and they will end up in the 3x3. 5 CMD were placed in a single 3g pot, all other varietals are running individually in 1g pots. Everything is planted in CoM Stonington Blend soil. Tent Temp is in the 80’s humidity 70-80%, lights will be running 24/0 for winter temp control

Here’s to hoping for a successful first seed run. Long term goal is to back cross the produced seeds to the remaining seeds from the purchased packs to chase the original product but a regular version. I really just want 3BOG regs, some bubble hash won’t hurt either:pass:

    Round 2 Start
  • 5,776 seeds harvested so far… only the two CMDxCMD ladies to harvest.
Earlier this week I planted some seeds. I filled 4x 1g fabric pots with Roots Organic Original soil mix and sowed Mephisto 3BOG, Sour Orange Diesel Kush, Forum Stomper, and HubbabubbaSmelloscope. Simultaneously I sowed a 72 count tray, 18 cells for each varietal two seeds per cell. The crosses sown were CMDx 3BOG, CMDx SODK, CMDx Forum Stomper, and CMDx HubbabubbaSmelloscope. These will be backcrossed onto the original Mephisto gear to strengthen the Mephisto traits of my crosses. I figure I should be able to get some decent males from a 36 plant sample
All the Mephisto seeds came up today, some of my crosses were up yesterday, more today, and I suspect the rest will follow.

Let’s hope the 72ct tray works long enough to transplant out the desirables to solos and bring them to pollen. Unfortunately plant counts won’t allow me to grow out a few females to see the results but a friend might take a few to finish out if they aren’t miserably stunted by then so we could see what these ladies produce

    Round 2 day 26
  • Males are throwing pollen, isolation time(they were in a tent of seedlings). I narrowed the field down to one male each of the 4 cultivars. The 14 females of the crosses are being seen off to loving homes who will report back on bud quality(they know the plants will be small) . I’ll update later today on the 4 mothers to be. Really excited about the 3BOG pheno I hit on the female. The SODK female is super fast flowering whereas the SODK male is slow which isn’t ideal as I’d like both to lean one way. Both SODK and HubbabubbaSmelloscope males really stood right out as the obvious choice and both have developed a really pleasant smell when stem rubbed.
Forum stomper male was tougher to choose and eventually I went with the slower flowering, tighter nodes guy.
Next seed run I am doing blackberry and popping 100+ seeds of one type to do a more in depth pheno hunt to ensure a purple progeny

    Round 2 Day 32
  • Pollination by collecting the male pollen on a plate and paint brushing it onto the pistils, then blowing the rest off the plate at the plant and then blowing each plant off before returning to tent. Admittedly not the most scientific methods and I suppose the chance of stray pollen moving between the plants is present in my setup but I did them one at a time with cleaned tools and tried my best to stop unwanted cross pollination. Not overly concerned though since these are personal use and the resulting crosses would surely be high test. How about that roots organics regimen killing it in the 1g bags on the females! Perhaps a bit of dialing in on the switch as it look N heavy. (Some males are missing a leaf or two because I took them for a picture)

    Round 2 Day 45
  • 1g bags aren’t forgiving if you don’t water when they need it, so some stress happened mostly to the forum stomper. Things still going well anyway and really excited about the genetics.

And 3BOG I’m super excited about, big fat nugs, crazy leaves, nice structure, and not finicky at all like every other 3 big I’ve run(could be I am not as bad at growing her but I’ll credit a robust genetics)

    Purple Promise Day 5
  • Started the next round of breeding, chosen strain is Blackberry x CMD which I named “Purple Promise”. So you can guess the breeding will focus on keeping the purple trait in all progeny. I was going to backcross onto Fastbuds Blackberry again but that seed fizzled out and my own crosses all popped fine so I am just going to run with it and start working the line. I can always revisit and backcross later as I have an abundance of seeds :toke:

Now imagine, none of the seeds end up making a purple plant:haha::goodluck:

    Round 2 Forum Stomper chop
  • Day 78 and I needed space so she gets the chop. Her seeds look ready and the seeds I took two weeks ago germinated so we should be all mature now.

The other 3 strains of this round will follow suit soon but they remain in healthier condition so I feel inclined to push them in case it bulks the seeds, who knows my stoner ass might chop them anyways
