11/16 is Day 1. That's when I took the seeds out of filters and planted in cups.
I had a 3rd one that only had a nub and I tried making a sip solo cup. I had water in the rez and I think it made soil too wet. I think it could work if you let the plant grow a week or so. You need roots to suck up the water.

Better late than never details
These gals are under Viparspectra xs1000.
Amendments are various KNF at various intervals = Humic Acid, Soybean Amino Acid, Leaf FPE.* Root Beer*, Fish Amino Acids*, Full Bloom Ferment*,Water Soluble Calcium*, Langbienit. *= DIY
Soil for the right gal is Coast of Maine Bar Harbor.
The left gal is in a soil mix for bonsai plants. Since it's designed for small plants I thought it would be a good try on the solos. So far, not so good. The "soil" is mainly stuff to give good aeration. I had added some Bar Harbor but I'm thinking it needs more--like maybe 50/50
Anyway, they seem to be doing fine

Day 21 Wedding Glue
Well, the solo girl seems to be doing ok. Not very stretchy but that may be just fine for a solo cup. Water and nutes don't have to travel too far. At her 5th node so I'll get er topped. The tiny one was in the bonsai "soil" and didn't seem to like it so I put her into the 1 gallon pot with regular soil to try and give her a chance. Still not looking so good but at least the yellowing seems to have stopped.
Most of my babies seem to not be having any fun. The weather down here has been nuts. One day the high temp during the day is 82, night is 38. Next day daytime high is 65 and night is 60. Trying to keep temps and RH in grow space has been a ballbuster. I guess that's why I get paid the big bucks. Ive just been feeding them some Home Grown Bokashi veg mix. I'll prolly start the solo girl on some knf next week.

Day 49 Wedding Glue
I've been holding off on this update cause I was hoping the solo girl would get better but-----. Not sure what the deal is here. She went into bloom day 24 with the sickly yellow green look. Leaves were all similar. What's getting me is her bigger sister is doing just fine although she is just going into bloom. Don't know if it's a genetic thing? Is the regular soil too hot for the solo cup? Are the knf nutes too hot for the cup? Usually when they are talking about living soil and knf, they are usually talking about 15 gal and up pots. I've tried giving straight water to rinse potential heat out. I did notice a couple of my other girls looking like they might have a nitrogen deficiency so I mixed up some soy aminos and foliar fed them last night. The solo girl actually looks a bit better today but I'm afraid it's too little too late. I'll keep her going as long as she wants to. The next solo I try, I'll use some seed starter soil and half strength knf at least to start and see how it goes.

Color is starting to come back in the fan leaves but I'm afraid it's too little too late

Damn, late again. Lately I've been putting in 7 day weeks. Got 2 speedweeks coming up and rumor has it we may be on Inex/Nascar so I'm supposed to transform this crusty old dirt track into something pretty. Oh well, a few more weeks and it will all be over.

Anyhow, the solo cup gal is looking more like mini broccoli heads. She's hanging in there but not really going anywhere. She's a cheap date so I'll stick with her.

The one in the gal bag was having pretty much the same issue up top but the lowers seem to be greening up so I chopped of the broccoli heads and maybe the lowers will manage to produce something. We're still having cold weather issues. Even with 2 heaters it was down to 68 in the room this morning. These rv's just aren't insulated for full time living.

Day 85 Wedding Glue Week 12. Time flies when having fun
At this point I don't see any point in a final pic for the contest. Ms Broccoli is still alive and thinking I'll keep her around as long as she wants. Amazingly her sister came back to life and grew real buds albeit minis. I'll hang onto her as well. It has definitely been interesting.
